章節 28: (Together we're us)

Days of us being together goes on smoothly. Alden stopped being cheesy but the passion only grew. We were at the lunch table talking and laughing when suddenly one of the member of his group came running to our table.

"Alpha, we need to go" his rough breathing tells clearly that he's been running for quite a lot time. Wait...did he say Alpha?

I look at Alden, but his eyes are focused on him.

"I mean...Alden, we should go"

Alden jumps up startling all of us. "Let's go"

He leaves taking longer strides and is out of the room within seconds while we're left staring at his disappearing silhouette.

After a moment, everyone moves back to eating their lunch while I'm still dazed with what just happened when Rae's voice brings me out of it.

"Don't worry, Shi...He'll be alright. It must be something small with his friends"

Even though I smile at her showing that I'm ok. That's not what I'm worried about. But I'm worried that he didn't look back even for a second.

It's been five days since Alden went with his friend. He hasn't been back since then. And now it has started to worrying me because not only he's not back but also, he hasn't made any point of contact. He's not called or texted me. I tried his number but it was switched off. When I asked Rae, she brushed it off saying that he's gone for some family emergency and will be back soon. When I asked her if she's been in touch with Caden, she replied saying that they talk all the time on the phone but still when I asked why was Alden's phone not reachable. Her reply was that he might be out of network's coverage.

On day nine, I started to get suspicious because Alden wasn't back, neither were his friends. Rae had taken off to somewhere too for two days and now she was back. But it doesn't matter how much I pester her, she kept brushing me off. I tried to ignore the pain that had started to make home in my chest. I tried but failed and one day when I entered the room and saw Rae talking to Cade, it felt like a window for me to finally have some information about Alden.

"You know It's going to be alright babe it's just that...." I didn't let her finish; I was on her laptop in less than 3 seconds.

"Hi, Caden" I smiled while Rae looked as if someone had just thrown a bucketful of water on her.

"Oh, hey Shia"

"So, how are you"

"I'm good, what about you" he was flushed.

"So, do you know where Alden is? Or are you going to ignore the fact that he has neither called or made any kind of contact with me just like your girlfriend" I saw Rae flinch at my words from the corner of my eye.

"umm...what're your talking about?" he pretended to look confused.

"Cut the crap Caden and answer me. Where the Fuck is Alden" the moment I cursed they knew I was serious. Good.

"Alden is out Shia. He's gone to his uncle's house for some days to finish some personal business"

He had just finished his sentence when a guy entered in the periphery and asked him to come.

"Hey, Caden...Alden is looking for you" at the mention of Alden my eyes narrowed while Cade closed his eyes and sighed.

"So, you can lie too" I smiled sweetly at him while anger boiled inside me. How dare they lie to us...An inner voice startled me. WTH

They must think of us as desperate...desperate for that stupid alpha and so they don't respect us or our feelings. We must teach them a lesson. At this I was ready to bolt but I gathered some courage and tried not to appear psycho to Rae or her lying boyfriend.

"who are you?" I whispered to myself.

Oh Sweety...you don't know me yet but soon, you will. I'm you and you are me. Together we are us and us is worth more powerful than any lying piece of shitty Beta or Crazy ass egoistic Alpha.

What the hell is happening?

Oh! you should probably answer your room mate she's been calling your name for past minute.

At that I realized that Rae was indeed calling my name and Cade looked suspiciously at me.

"I'm sure Alden has just come back. You don't worry I'll speak to him and will ask him to give you a call" at this moment Alden was least bit of my concern. I needed my best friend more than anything.

"Yeah, you're right. I'll let you two talk" I slipped on my shoes and grabbed my overnight bag that I always keep with me just in case I need it.

"Shi, where are you going?" Rae's question made me look at her. She and cade both were looking at me as if I was the one who was committing a crime.

"Oh, nowhere. I'm just going to stay at Christy's place tonight. She's been bugging me for a month now for a sleepover. I'll see you in the morning. Bye"

I didn't wait for her reply and left from there as fast as I could.

As soon as I was out of the dorm, I dialed Chance's number. He picked up on third ring.

"Hey..." he sounded out of breath. And I felt embarrassed because I might have just disturbed him during his action.

"Did I catch you at the wrong time"

"it is always a right time for you Shi...you know that"

I heard shuffling in the background and shouting...it sounded like the girl was really pissed.

"Just hold on a sec for me, will you? munchkin" I groaned

"Chance, it's obviously not the right time. I'll call you later okay?"

Chance didn't waste a second "I said hold on for a sec Shi"

"Are you for real" a woman's voice filtered through the phone and added some more to the level of my embarrassment.

"Chance, I'll call you later Alright, I have to go" I didn't wait for his reply and disconnected the call. Well, that's a cross out for one best friend. I dialed Christy's number but luck didn't seem on my side as she was also out of town.

There's no guide as to what to do when you feel all alone and need your friends but they're not there. And I guess desperate times call for desperate needs as I was suddenly following the voice in my head.

"You know, you might think that you're going crazy but one day when you'll realize how much an important part I am of you...you'll love me. We're inseparable Shia."

"what's your name?" I asked that voice in my head.

"Oh, finally you asked. I was dying to tell you my name...I am Accalia" I could hear a small smile in her voice.

"Accalia?"

"Yes, and no matter what happens I'll always be here for you"

"Alright then, tell me what should we do now?"

"Well, I would suggest that we take a long walk to north" I smiled, walks were always my sweet point as it gave me time to think, to process everything and most important...peace.

"Good point" and with that I started walking.
