'Huh? Where am I? I was… what was I doing before I came here? Why am I in this empty white room?'
'Atlas! You're finally here boy!'
'Atlas? Is that my name?'
Standing alone in an empty white room, the man named Atlas looks around for the source of the male voice. In the corner of the room, a raven, as black as the night, begins to hop along and then flies towards the man, landing on his shoulder.
'It seems like you got here safely. Before we get to it, let me introduce myself. This raven here is my Avatar and the voice you are hearing right now is me! Dragon God Kai! I'm sure you are wondering why your memories seem to be missing. It's because you died, and memories serve no purpose for those who are dead, so they are stored away in the Mirrored Realm.'
Atlas, trying his best to process everything being told to him. 'I'm dead? Does that mean what I see right now is my soul? Am I about to be judged for what kind of life I lived until now?' Many questions were running through his mind. After finally sorting through what he heard, Atlas asks. 'If you're a god… does that mean you're going to hand down judgement onto me?'
'HAHAHA, of course not boy! My name is Dragon God Kai, not Death God Kai! I'm here to let you know that I have decided to send your soul to another world! You get another chance at life again.'
Atlas feels nothing from hearing this. How could he? He doesn't even know what happened in his first life? How could he value a second life? But he doesn't want to seem ungrateful or rude so he timidly asks Kai a question.
'Dragon God Kai, I am sure that most would be excited for such an opportunity to live a second life; however, I don't even remember my last life. How could I…'
Before Atlas could complete his sentence, Kai interrupts him.
'Ah! Don't worry about the little details! I have deemed you worthy of a second life and no one will be able to go against my authority, you understand? So don't think about it and just prepare for a new life filled with magic and adventures!'
Atlas, not sure how to respond to the jubilant god, just stays quiet, hoping the process is done quickly so he doesn't have to talk with him anymore.
'Since the world I'm sending you to will be filled with swords and magic, I will give you my blessing and I will also fuse all the fighting techniques from your world into one so that you can protect yourself until my blessing awakens in you.'
A bright light appears in front of the little raven and then floats in front of Atlas before disappearing into his head.
'Uhm, God Kai sir, could you not give me actual spells? Wouldn't that make it easier for me to protect myself when magic is the norm?'
'Well funny you say that, not everyone has the ability…'
Right as Kai was going to explain everything, a flute could be heard in the distance. It starts off quiet but begins to get louder and louder as if it's closing in on them.
*Kai sighs* Kai then speaks in the most serious tone he has used since meeting Atlas. 'Seems like our time is up, be strong boy. No matter what hardships you face, no matter what choices you make, know that I will always be on your side. Do not worry, I will gather your memories from the Mirrored Realm and send it to you. You should receive them by the time you turn 10. I am sure they will be of use to you.'
Just like that, the raven hops off Atlas' shoulder. Before Atlas could say anything, his body disappears, entering a new world with nothing but the parting words of a god.
'I hope Atlas does well. We are fated to meet again according to the Time Keeper. Hopefully when we meet again it will be a happy occasion… I know this isn't enough to make up for my mistakes but I hope that this at least puts a dent into my debt.'
As Kai prays for Atlas' success, the flute comes to a sudden stop. Then a female voice is heard, 'Kai this is where you've been? Come on! We're suppose to drink with everyone!'
Kai's Avatar, the raven, suddenly goes up into a puff of black smoke, replacing it is a man standing at 5'11, yellow eyes of a predator, jet black hair put into a slick back and wearing a black suit with no tie.
'I'm heading out right now you old hag! I had unfinished business to take care of.'
Kai then disappears just as Atlas did, leaving the white room completely empty again.
WOOHOO! First ever book I will be writing, so please have patience with me if the writing feels weird. I am still trying to understand it myself. Please leave a review or comment on how the book is so I can work on improving it!
