"Mina!! No! please don't jump! We can talk about things. It doesn't have to end this way!" Kaiden cried out, his voice catching in his throat as Mina threatened to jump off one of the city's tallest buildings. The crowd below watched in fear, urging her not to do it.
"Please don't!! Mina! , we can still try to fix this ...No!!!"
She took a step closer to the edge, and there was nothing Kaiden could do except shout, "Okay! fine!! I'll marry you... I'll marry you, Mina."
"Y...You...you'll marry me? Do you promise?" she whimpered, tears streaming down her face.
"I promise. I'll marry you," he assured her.
Without hesitation, she quickly got down, wiping her tears and plastering a huge smile, proud of her accomplishment.
She ran to him, hugging him, tucking her head on his chest as though she wasn't threatening to take her life a second ago. "I love you, Kaiden."
But he just stood there, wondering and trying to figure out what the hell had just happened. He fell for her trap once again. She told him she was going to take her own life if he didn't marry her , but he didn't think she would do such a thing.
" Should I take you to the hospital?"
" No... there's no need, I'm fine."
Kaiden Blackwood, his name just as sexy as him, was a highly respected FBI agent in the city. His sleek black hair in a man bun showcased his deep grey eyes and finely chiseled jawline, all in harmony with his perfectly sculpted Greek-god body. He was to die for a statement Mina took literally.
Mina Jax, the once-upon-a-time stripper from a nightclub, found solace and peace with her one-night-stand man, Kaiden. Everything about her screamed trouble, from her fiery red hair to her face lifts, lip fillers, and implants... God knows if her own mother would even recognize her. She had him in the palm of her hand, like a pawn in a game of chess. And everything was just starting to fall into place.
"I'm so happy we'll finally get married, Kay Bear. Our child will have a very good father, isn't that right?" She batted her fake lashes at him as she rubbed her flat stomach.
He looked at her, still in disbelief. "Mina, let me get back to work. I'll see you later."
"Bye-bye, my Kay Bear." Her innocent smile turned into a devilish smirk.
She walked down the hallway of the building, entering a room not far from where she attempted to perform her stunt.
She slowly closed the door behind her and smiled.
"Did you like my act?" she laughed as she poured herself a glass of wine.
"I didn't like it, I loved it, my love, it was Oscar worthy," her lover said, pulling her close and kissing her forehead.
"You should have seen his stupid face when I stood at the edge of the building. It was sooo satisfying. He's so naive," she scoffed. "Why on earth would he think I'd be dumb enough to jump off a building for him?"
"You need to be more careful with your acts and stunts, mi amor. What if you actually slipped? You could've hurt yourself and our baby," he said, hugging her from behind and placing his hands on her belly.
"Just like I promised you, everything will fall into place, my love. And soon, very soon, we'll rule with an iron fist," she giggled as he swept her off her feet, leading her to their room with a seductive grin on his face.
"Do your thing, Daddy," she murmured playfully, yet dripping with malice. The night was theirs and soon, so would be the entire city.
