章節 13: Inviting On Dinner

These people can't let me live in peace even for a single day.
I don't understand what my sister saw in that idiot. Even his family is stupid.
They are creating trouble at every chance they see.
First his father came to me for help, then he did everything to annoy me.
I am seeing them acting like a clown for the whole evening now.
They even framed Su Li for something she never did.
I myself saw Lin Wen's mother tripping her and then blaming her for something completely ridiculous.
If not for my sister I would have thrown these bunch of idiots out by now.
Do they really think that they are some kind of God or what? I don't even care about a God.
I threatened them but it seems like they don't understand human language.
If they did something like this again I don't think I would be able to hold myself back.
Even after warning them, my anger has not subsided a bit. I brought Su Li out here in the park or whatever it is, and she is looking at me to speak.
What am I supposed to say now?
I am just trying to not be rude, because I know for sure that she is going to misunderstand later.
Not that I care about it. Maybe I do. But why would I care what she is thinking.
She can think anything she want.
I will go crazy at this rate.
"You must be feeling very grateful right now. No need to thank me." I say even shocking myself.
Even though I did not mean to say that, I won't correct myself.
Instead of getting offended or hurt by my statement like I thought she shocked me by saying with a smile
"You think too highly of yourself. I know you want me to thank you so bad but don't worry, this was your problem to begin with. And even though It's my job to deal with people, she went overboard today."
She is right. I won't have said anything to her even if she went against them.
I should be angry after what she said but instead I calmed down.
What's wrong with me?
"What?" She's looking at me strangely.
"If you are done with whatever you were thinking, will you leave my hand?"
Only then I remembered I was still holding her hand.
I freed her hands. I don't know what to do now.
"You tried talking with Bai'er about Lin wen and his family?" She asks as she sits on a bench and I sit beside her like that's the most natural thing to do.
"Don't you think you are meddling in my affairs?"
She tried to talk to me before too but it only ended up in me answering like I was annoyed by her. Contrary to that I was quite pleased.
I just don't like her being concerned about me.
"So what if I am?" She replies.
Does she really not feel bad when I talk to her like that?
"I just don't want to upset her." I still reply to her and she responds with a sweet smile.
What is happening here?
"Even though you want to protect her, she won't like being in the dark. If in future she knows it she will only feel heartache for you."
Like I don't understand this point. But I won't let her know. Not now nor in the future. No matter how that guy and his family is, I will make sure they listen to me and keep her happy.
Otherwise I can always make them regret being born.
"It's fine, as long as they behave."
My sister doesn't need to know. She will always be a little girl in my heart. I don't want her to face the cruel hardships of the world.
I will try my best to protect her.
Why is it that Su Li is always giving me life advice like I don't know everything already. .
"I am sorry for today." I say.
She looked at me with a shocked expression and I want to tell her that I am as shocked as she is right now.
Even I am surprised by my words.
"It's okay. It was not your fault to begin with."
I insisted on dropping her home after the party was over. And by insist I mean I ordered her and she looked excited like I surprised her with something wonderful.
I don't know what's happening or what will happen. Deep down I am even looking forward to it.
I drop her home and go back to the villa instead of my apartment.
Earlier Grandpa asked me to meet him after coming back. I wonder what he wants to talk about.
He can be either completely serious or he could be joking.
I enter the study and I see him writing something on a paper.
He hides it as soon I come in his sight making me curious about what he was writing. But I don't ask anything.
"You're here." He says.
'Yeah." I reply.
"Good, now tell me what happened earlier?" He asks.
How did he know something happened earlier? The possibility of someone telling him makes my blood boil. These bunch of idiots can't let me live in peace.
My grandfather's health has not been in its best condition for the past few years.
He can't be agitated. I am going to beat that person who made him worried.
"Nothing happened, and you don't have to worry about anything." I assure him.
"So…." He lifted his eyebrow.
"What?" I asked puzzledly.
"What do you think about her?"
Here we go. Why is he hell bent on this?
I don't understand why they think she'll be a good match for me.
I am not interested in her. In fact I am not interested in anyone. I know that his worrying is reasonable, but I can't do anything about it.
As for Su Li, I don't know what to think about her.
She is not the person I thought she was.
"It's not what you think. I don't like her." I clarify hoping that he would drop this topic. I have a lot of work to do, instead of thinking about my relationship.
"You can fool yourself, but you can't fool me."
"Why are you acting like a child? You are in your 30s already. When are you going to find someone, if not now." He started nagging.
"Why do I need to find someone?" I am completely fine on my own.
"What do you know? You will just deny your own feelings. I know you the best." He said.
What's happening here? I was unaware that there were some feelings.
"Why don't we invite her for dinner next Sunday?" Grandpa suggests.
"You can do whatever you want." I say.
It's not like he would change his mind if I told him to. He is not going to listen to me anyways.
"You will stay single forever if you act like this. Won't you feel lonely all by yourself."
He says this almost every time I come to see him.
"I think you did not hear me clearly, you are going to call her and invite her politely." He says stubbornly.
"If you want to eat dinner with her , you can invite her yourself. Why you are making me do that." I say
"Are you dumb?" He said.
"I don't know, After all I have your genes." I retort.
"You…."
I know I made him speechless. I can tell by the way he is looking at me that he is going to start telling me about benefits of having a partner. That I should consider this.
It's not like I never thought about it, but from a young age I have seen girls throwing themselves at me. They tried all sorts of methods to get into my pants.
I had to be cautious around everyone. After guarding myself for so many years, I have become accustomed to it. I don't know if I would trust anyone.
Even though I know that Su Li is a nice girl, I still don't trust her.
"Grandpa it's not like that . Don't drag her into this." I tell him to let her stay away from it, that I don't like her.
He looked at me thoughtfully.
"Okay so give the answer of this one question." He said.
"What?" I will give him as many answers as he want if he would not talk about this matter again.
"Who was the last girl to whom you said more than a single line except for your work."
"Why are you asking me this?"
Now I realise why he is asking me this.
Even though I don't want to accept it, but Su Li is the only girl whom I talked to.
Grandpa has an expression like look I told you. And he wins.
I have no choice but to call her and invite her for dinner next Sunday.
