[ Seraphina's POV ] 

"Serina, my love... Serina," Duke chanted while making his way toward me.

My power didn't affect him due to the protection our bond offered, but he was dodging the flying furniture.

Ignoring my irritation, he managed to reach me and wrap his arms around me.

He nuzzled my neck with his nose and took a deep breath.

"I missed you so much. Why didn't you tell me you were coming?" his lips moved against my flesh and then he kissed me there, that light touch sending shivers down my spine and breaking through my anger.

Duke's scent of pine and ocean filled my nostrils and reminded me of being home. It felt so good to be in his embrace, but I was angry and determined not to give in easily.

I pushed against his solid chest, but it was like trying to move a mountain.

"Why did you want me to announce my return? So, you can hide those sluts?"

He froze. "What sluts?"
