Clare POV

As John walked out of the room, I expected to feel sad, or guilty—but I didn’t. Rather, I almost felt bad that I was relieved instead. Relieved that I finally had conversation with him and that we were on the same page.

Then Leonel walked back in and I couldn't help but smile as I felt happier than I had in a long time. Without the guilt of John and the weight of the misinformation about Leonel, my heart felt much lighter.

Especially around him.

It was a little awkward though as Leonel walked back up to me on the bed. I didn't know what to say, and obviously he didn't either.

I had just picked him over John, but we hadn't really had another conversation about what we were. Plus, I was sure he was listening to at least part of my talk with John, and he had asked some pretty personal questions.

Did I love Leonel?
