章節 35: DEVOTION
The first person that Xiao Tianyao saw the moment he arrived at his mansion was Xiao Jun who was standing in front of his gate. This was the first time they met again after the battle at the Xinghe Palace.
Xiao Tianyao dismounted his horse and walked toward Xiao Jun.
"I will not talk about this again Jun." Xiao Tianyao said when he had faced his brother.
However, Xiao Jun shook his head. "We are summoned to enter the palace." He said uninterested.
Not long after Xiao Jun informed him, a eunuch with his entourage came and announced the same thing that Xiao Jun had told him a moment ago.
"I just arrived, I will meet the Emperor later." Xiao Tianyao didn't heed the eunuch and helped Luna to get off from the carriage.
"But, the Emperor said, Prince Xiao Tianyao and Prince Xiao Jun should enter the palace immediately." The eunuch insisted.
"I said later!!!" Xiao Tianyao roared at the eunuch and the poor eunuch almost stumbled backward upon hearing his angry shout. He backed away in fear.
He had lived long enough to know both princes, but he never saw both of them lost their temper like this. Even though Xiao Tianyao was known for his cold behavior but he never threw his temper for trivial matter like this.
Meanwhile, Xiao Jun's furrowed his brows deepen, even if a mere eunuch could say something was off about Xiao Tianyao, moreover him as his brother. He held Xiao Tianyao shoulder, only to be brushed off by him.
"Tianyao, what happened with you? You are not like yourself!" Xiao Jun's question was more like statement.
"Stay away from me Jun!" Xiao Tianyao shot a dagger looked at his brother.
Xiao Jun was struck dumb by his Xiao Tianyao menacing glared. All this time, never, even once Xiao Tianyao gave him that look, the look that filled with hatred and killing intent.
His brother was possessed by something. This man before his eyes wasn't the younger brother that he knew.
With disbelief sight, Xiao Jun looked at the carriage where Xiao Tianyao helped a young lady get off from it. She must be Luna.
Xiao Jun stared by the way Xiao Tianyao took care of her, as though the girl was made of glass that could shatter from the small pressured and the way his brother looked at her, it wasn't infatuation, but devotion!
This whole thing was beyond Xiao Jun imagination. Who is this girl? That was the only question that was roaming his mind.
Xiao Jun and the eunuch ended up to waiting for Xiao Tianyao to settle his little lover. While the eunuch didn't dare to step inside the mansion, Xiao Jun walked in and waited for Xiao Tianyao inside his study.
He had told him that he would wait here and he needed to meet him first before they were heading to the palace, because there was something that Xiao Jun wanted to discuss with him.
After an hour waiting, finally Xiao Tianyao sauntered inside the study room with an alert expression. He was more like a person who would meet his enemy rather than someone who would meet his close elder brother.
The sword on Xiao Tianyao hips was something that couldn't be ignore. He was in his own mansion and met with his own brother, so to bring along his weapon was a little bit too much.
However, Xiao Jun didn't say anything about it.
"Tianyao, listen to me…" Xiao Jun started when Xiao Tianyao had leant his back on the couch across him.
"If you want to talk about letting Luna away, then nothing should be discussed." Xiao Tianyao cut him off icily.
"Tianyao, you are not like yourself…" Xiao Jun looked at deep into his brother eyes.
"Cut the crap Jun and tell me what exactly you want to talk about."
Xiao Jun realized at that time that he couldn't persuade his brother, not in this way when his head was clouded. He needed to find a way to know the identity of the girl from Xinghe that Xiao Tianyao was so infatuated with.
"If you adamant to keep her, it's fine with me." Xiao Jun relented and talked in the way that Xiao Tianyao couldn't reject his opinion. "However, both of us know that the girl will be used against us."
Xiao Tianyao was about to retort his brother when Xiao Jun continued. "Like I said, I don't mind if you keep her, but the thing is the Emperor will use her against us, in another word. The girl can be hurt in the process." He used his brother's care to rely his point. "We must think about something, so both of you can be saved."
"I don't mind to kill that devil Emperor, he had killed our parent!" Xiao Tianyao snapped at him. "I will kill him, so you can usurp the throne and all of this will end. Why are you so cowards to do that Jun?"
