Charlotte turned around and peeled her eyes open. "Édouard," she whispered and snuggled close to him. She knitted her brows together and again opened her eyes. "What's the time?" She asked and then sat up.
"It's late afternoon. Probably two o'clock," Édouard replied and he also sat up.
"Were you out? Whom did you meet up with? Matilda? I asked you not to meet her alone," Charlotte said and ran her fingers through her hair before tilting her head.
'"I didn't go to see her. I went to have a conversation with King Esther," Édouard said and caressed her hair. "There is good news," he whispered.
"A good news?" Charlotte was curious to know.
"Mm-hmm. We have a week to change Matilda's change. King Esther does not either want Matilda to marry me. However, as a father, he is forced to do everything for his daughter," Édouard explained to her, "fatherly love you can say." He smiled at her and kissed her lips.
