Argon lifted his head to look at his friend across him. His brows formed a single line. "You witnessed how he reacted earlier. His emotions were clouding his right judgement as a ruler."

Gandolf's fists clinched from what he heard. "Don't ever say that." His eyes met Argon's judgmental gaze. "We know fucking well how much he waited for this. For her. And he knew it himself what he should do." He stood up and stretched his body. "He wants her not just because she's his mate. She really piqued Zek's interest. According to what he said. So, plainly speaking, the mate thing wasn't the only reason that he was after her. And besides, do you really think you can do something about it? Even if it's the two of us against him, the outcome won't be on our favor." He sighed picked up the syringe case before strutting to the door.
