Hannah's POV

I had always wondered what death felt like.

Was there really life after? Was it peaceful? Was there truly a deity to whom our souls returned? Or was it just nothingness, a permanent removal from existence?

I had always known that one day I would find out. However, that day was not today.

Just as my last breath was about to escape from me, Lasisi was interrupted by a loud banging on the door. Startled, he let go of my throat, restoring airflow to my burning lungs as I hungrily gasped for air. With a groan, he angrily yelled at the person on the other side, upset at the disruption.

"Who the fuck is that?!"

"Sir, it is me, Ibrahim."

"What is it?"

"You have been discovered, Sir. There is a police squad on its way here as we speak."
