He was surprised by the sudden turn of events that was going on under his roof. He was completely unaware of the hostility brewing with Liam toward Luisa.

He thought after what almost happened to them. His grandson would seriously consider his relationship with the young girl. But he was blindsided by what his grandson had done to her earlier. Still, he had to do something to remedy the problem.

Neither wanted to talk unless he initiated a conversation with a question, but both responded with a monosyllable answer. "I gather you enjoy your game." The Count still attempted to salvage the situation as he looked at the young lady on his right side.

At that moment, he watched the two sit silently at the long dining table. Various delicious entrees filled the table, but both seemed buried in their thoughts that they barely touched the food on their plates.
