Khai felt as though he had been struck by lightning. A whole range of emotions crossed his face, starting with surprise, followed by doubt, and finally settling on delight. He was so taken aback that he momentarily wondered if he was imagining her words. His entire body felt tingly, as if he was drowning in bliss and his mind became blank. He questioned if he was coming down with an illness, because his throat tightened, making him feel stifled. Was this what it felt like to be overwhelmed with emotions? His heart was overflowing with joy, so much so that it ached from being unable to contain it.
