Surprised appeared on both of their faces. They looked at each other until Melanie, noticing Ivy's arrival with Paul without turning her head, smiled.

Ivy approached and Melanie stood staring at her. "Ivy, you are here too."

"I am in the mood for dinner, mother, and Prince Paul brought me here," replied Ivy.

Melanie looked straight at Paul and he just nodded smiling at her.

"Well, that is a shame. It just so happens that Theodoric and I just finished. So we cannot offer you to join," Melanie said.

Ivy looked at her husband who just sat listening while he drank his drink.

"Oh, it is all right, mother. Prince Paul and I should not have to join either.

"Then we will go to another table, Your Majesty," Paul said, bowing.
