章節 22: Chapter 0022: Their Lives Could Only Get Better.

The moment the car parked in front of the penthouse, it was only right that Ariana should get down and retreat to her bed for the night. But she didn't do that, she has a lot to ask from Harry who has been keeping silent on her ever since they left the hospital.

He definitely was bipolar.

She could still recall that he was satisfied with her acting back there at the hospital, so why was he giving her the silent treatment as if she did something bad?

Maybe he already found the real Selina and is about to get rid of her?

Ariana sat up from the seat to look at him properly, her thoughts were running wild with a lot of evil thoughts going on. But the good part of it all is that he was not with his gun or was he?

Ever since what happened last night she has been self conscious of what she says or do around him, Harry himself had tried to allow her to settle around him by not taking his gun with him. Her eyes has been in it since morning even till now.

"Ex..excuse me…" She called for his attention the only way she knew she can, but his reply caught her off guard.

"He knows that you are a fake." Harry replied, turning to look at her with a cold expression on his face.

"What?!" Ariana's eyes widened. Alexander already caught onto the act so soon?

Instead of going ahead to explain what exactly happened, Harry burst out laughing at her face before she knew that he was only joking. Well, it better be just a joke because her money is very very important to her.

"Don't worry, you did good." He said, tugging at his tie before regaining his normal composure. This time he wasn't looking like he was angry at her anymore. "I would appreciate it the more if you practice harder and build yourself on being verbal with him. You were almost caught, because you were nervous and couldn't talk to him."

"I'm sorry." She apologized with a frown settling on her face. So much for him complimenting her. She already made a mental note not to get happy anytime he compliment her anymore, because after that was his critics following behind.

Well, it wasn't her fault that she couldn't talk around Alexander. She was scared of Alexander's eyes. His eyes, the way he was looking at her, made her feel so small compared to his huge height. It also made her forget everything that she has been learning so far, it was as if he was looking right at her soul and the way it made her feel?

She has never experienced such an intense stare before. The thought of spending more time with him together, after he got out of the hospital, made her feel nervous.

Just like Harry has said, she doesn't think that she will last a week before Alexander finds out that she's a fake.

"So, to get straight to the point of why we are here." Harry said, bringing her out of her thoughts by taking out a document from a brown file. It was the original contract agreement between the both of them.

He handed it over to her aswell as a pen, which she took with shaky hands.

"All you have to do is to sign here, just like i promised you will be paid this month. I added another five hundred to the previous as a sign of my gratitude to you."

"Thank you so much." Ariana said with a big smile on her face. He's so kind, yet so twisted. But she didn't want to judge what he does, it's none of her business her only business here is to be Selina White and at the end of the year, she takes her ten billion dollars and disappears from his life.

"Don't thank me yet, i will only accept your gratitude once i see the effort you are putting into making this agreement a reality. So, please sign." Harry urged her.

Ariana's face fell flatly at his rude ass, why can't he be normal like Alexander?

But what the young lady didn't know was Alexander was more complicated than Harry. She doesn't know him that well to say anything about him yet.

She signed the contract and passed the contract back to him, before he took out another box and gave to her.

She looked at him confused until she opened it and saw a brand new iPhone sixteen.

"I apologize for taking your phone away but it needed to be done if you are to concentrate on the task at hand. Now that Alexander is awake, the real job starts now. I will be able to contact you through that phone.."

"But my real phone.." She asked him, before he interrupted her just the way she did to him earlier.

"You won't be needing that anymore. You need to give up your past life and get rid of anything that would drag you back, it won't be beneficial to our agreement if someone from your past gets to know…"

"Grace isn't someone from my past, she's my sister!" Ariana yelled at him. She didn't like the way he kept on talking about Grace as if she was a liability to her life. "We have talked about this before and you promised to let me see her every week, but all you did was to have your men dragging me out of my own house like some child!"

"Miss, you need to calm down…." Harry suggested. He didn't mean to give her the impression that he was talking bad about Grace. It isn't about Grace, since Grace wasn't the only one that she knows. But she won't allow him a chance to explain things properly.

"Don't tell me to calm down. You have no right to dictate my life like I'm a slave you purchased from the market. This is an agreement between the both of us, and if it doesn't benefit me, I have no zeal for helping you either. So, you either start listening to my demands or you go look for another Selina immediately!"

After Ariana was done making her point known to him, she was breathing heavily that she too was surprised at her outburst. When she regained her senses, she realized that Harry might change his mind and look for another girl, but she wasn't bothered by it one bit.

He asked for it.

Let him go find another doppelgänger if it is that easy.

"I'm sorry if you feel insulted by my words, but i didn't say what i said with the intention of ruining your friendship. Just like i promised, you will be allowed to see her once every week, but for the meantime, I suggest that you get things fixed here before you..,"

"No, I'm going to see Grace tomorrow and I'm going to do whatever it is you wants afterwards. Seeing my friend for just a few hours won't ruin your perfect plan."

"Fine." Harry has no option than to give in to her. He was wrong about her all long.

She isn't naive nor quiet neither kindhearted.

She's not any of what he figured her out to be. She's anything that she wants to be depending on the mood she's in. If only she can put this same energy she put into convincing him, to let her see her friend in practice and get Alexander to believe her act.

"Thank you." She said, "can i go now, I need to sleep." She reminded him. Since it's obvious that he didn't know what the time is.

"After finalizing the contract, I will send a part to you for reference. You will be meeting Alexander tomorrow since he's leaving the hospital, have a good night rest."

Ariana bowed to him before she left the car. The guards are standing guard at their post as usual which made her roll her eyes at them.

The moment she opened the door, she met Mia standing right in front of the door.

"Hey! You cute little thing." She carried the mutt into her arms and headed for her room.

Today has been a long day, but the thought of seeing Alexander and Grace tomorrow. Well, it was a no for Alexander and a big yes for Grace.

Before she changed out of her clothes, the phone she was with beeped and she looked at it to see that it was a notification from the bank.

A whooping sum of one thousand dollars sat there. A big smile fell upon her face. She reminded herself to take Grace out for shopping once she finds her and resolves their conflicts.

Everything she does is for both of them. From henceforth, their life would only get better.

Throughout the night, she slept like a baby, the thought of everything going according to her plan made her feel like maybe she wasn't cursed afterall.
