75% THE LAST [Omegaverse & Soulmate AU] / Chapter 3: The Only Exception

章節 3: The Only Exception

Unfortunately for Cymbeline, life wasn't full of rainbows and sunshine like it was for her growing up as a normal kid on Earth. Her little head being occupied with many simple and innocent dreams about anything a child could fantasize.

Of course, those good days lasted for a short period before life bit her on the ass at an early age when aliens came upon Earth after the unexpected war broke out around the galaxy.

Exterminating the fuck out of the human population by having no option but to be forced to take part regardless of being a weaker species and not being much help.

Later on, sending off a group of volunteers from many planets to save humanity by procreating with the un-bonded human omegas that barely remained. A bunch of lustful and perverted bullshit, they claimed, as Earth's salvation.

Leaving a sour and bitter taste in her mouth.

Supposedly, for the extraterrestrial outside of Earth, humans are viewed as an unusual and interesting species. Word around saying humans are the closest thing to the top dogs of the hierarchy in their planet's beliefs.

At least, that's what Cymbeline recalls hearing here and there, but she never gave it too much thought or gave two fucks to ask for clarification on the topic.

In her eyes, those fuckers were just hypocrites, hypercritical, and shameless. Treating and seeing humanity as a laughingstock.

Even so, it was merely gossip she heard around that came from the judgement and repellant traps of the aliens. The ones who visited Earth and were seeking for any trace of fresh meat, hidden or undiscovered by society.

To her delight, they only found pure disappointment to feed their alien asses once they went back to their home planet.

Because of their fucked up ideals to save and help continue humanity's future, the human omegas that were bonded and mated had lost their lives in a matter of time after the announcement of a new law and their mate's bravery for serving Astraea.

The other percentage of human omegas who died because of the immense depression they felt about their mate's death and the suicidal ideation of refusing to mate with someone else who wasn't their mate. The newly enforced law upon Earth. A decrease and extinction to the humankind.

A route Cymbeline and the others that agreed on mating again didn't blame them for or disagree on as a survival tactic. The easy way out.

The explanation of Cymbeline's situation. The reason and motive to why she's an Omega in hiding. Not just any kind of Omega, but a rare and desired mythical creature for the outskirt aliens far from Earth. A pureblood human referred as The Last.

If the other species were to find out her truth, she'd be dragged to their planet and be ravished however they desired. Knotting her down against her will and breeding her until the light in her purple iris fades away.

Cymbeline could only hiss at the cruel reality of the world she lived in. How fucked and evil it can be in various forms.

She didn't even want to imagine or think of the other things they'd do to her if they got their filthy hands on her. Passing her around like a ragged and inanimate doll. That's how fucked up the living was.

A strong rancor and repugnance she felt.

Fortunately for the two, Keegan and Cymbeline made it to safety when they crawled through the first layer of the shitty security fence without getting caught by a surveillance guard in their camp or having a zero sort of trouble.

Walking into the camp like nothing abnormal happened or they did anything wrong.

"Hey.. Cymbeline?"

The short boy murmured.

"What's up?"

Cymbeline asked and took a quick look at the side of his slightly chubby face as they neared a few structures of buildings and homes.

A place they call their home.

"How long are you going to keep this up?"

He questioned with a worried tone of voice.

"What do you mean?"

She replied.

'Please don't let it be what I think it is..'

She thought as her plum pink lips pursed, and her heart raced faster.

"You know... your identity."

He carefully muttered in a whisper-like tone as his eyes scanned for any wandering eavesdroppers.

Cymbeline only sighed as she stopped her movements before turning toward him and kneeled on one side of her knees to meet his eye-level.

"We talked about this..."

She began.

"... you understand and know that I'm aiming to become a miner, right?"

He nodded his head, but avoided looking at her.

She knew both her mother and the midget before her disagreed with her to pursue working as a miner for the galaxy.

A deadly and dangerous job for any species, especially for a human. Precisely, an Omega.

However, someone had to take charge and provide for their deficient household. That person being none other than Cymbeline.

"Meaning, I have to do whatever it is to make a living for you guys. Especially if it's dangerous for me as... you know.. me being different."

She emphasized at the end with a careful consideration of her words.

"Yeah, but... I can do that as the man of the house. It's my duty."

He voiced with a desperate tone and a determined expression.

Her eyes softened at his statement of the need to step up as the male figure of their miniature family. She could only imagine how hopeless he must feel not being able to do much.

After all, she was once in his shoes.

"Yes, but things are difficult now. Plus, you're still a kid. You have a long way to go. Enjoy your youth as a child. Just focus on that, okay? Let the adults handle it."

She replied as she embraced his small torso with a gentle rubbing hand motion on his back.

His smaller body simply accepted her warm and gentle embrace as he listened to her voice with a solemn facial expression.

"However, I appreciate your words and efforts, Keegan. We're family and we love you despite how hard it is. Plus, you're my lil sidekick."

She smirked as she pulled apart from him and squished his puffy cheeks.

"H-Hey! After everything I've done for you, this is how you repay me?!"

He yelped as he pushed himself away from her ferocious grip and scrambled away with hands on his reddish cheeks.

Cymbeline only cackled at the look of betrayal in his orange cat-like eyes as she stood up.

Boy, did she love to tease the fuck out of him. Any older sibling with younger siblings or anyone older with a younger loved one could relate to the satisfaction of annoying them.

'Humorous indeed.'

Without words, they walked, as Cymbeline had a playful smirk and hung her arm around Keegan's shoulders. He simply sulked at her actions, but hid a small smile creeping on his face by avoiding her gaze.

To anyone else, they were the exact definition of two peas in a pod. Stuck together forever, unless separated by choice.

A bond she strongly treasures for dear life and would do anything to make sure nobody fucked that up for them. Nothing could ever intervene or replace it. Not a future mate of hers, nor a bloody soulmate.

"Anyway, thanks for getting the watchdog off my ass. It's very much appreciated."

She praised with a mischievous smirk.

"It's nothing, really."

He shrugged as if it had been nothing, but deep down, she knew better than to believe his unbothered demeanor.

Little sucker's a very proud punk. Any praise from her and their mothers would feed his childish ego in a heartbeat.

Bragging it off to his friends at school on what cool and out of this world deed he'd done for his big bro—Cymbeline.

'Darn adorable punk.'

Out of nowhere, they froze and stopped moving their legs as they heard someone's voice from a distance. An intruder.

"Actually, I was the one who distracted the guard from following you."

A husky, yet velvety male voice announced.

For a moment, Cymbeline was simply taken a back until she recognized the intruder's voice.

Swiftly, Cymbeline looked behind where Keegan and she stood with her friendly lavender eyes, and observed as the individual walked in steady steps.

"Well, well. Would you look at that? If it isn't my only favorite warrior on Earth."

She jesters at the male figure, who now stood before them. An outsider she considers as the only exception to the rest of the revolting and wicked alien bastards beyond Earth.

"Uh, y-you flatter me too much, Cym."

He flustered, with waving hands in the air. A shy and timid Alpha. The opposite of the other dominant and animalistic alphas.

Cymbeline simply let out a soft and melodic chuckle as a dimple on her right cheek made itself known to the world.

The male's eyes only grew larger and his heart raced more at the mere sight of her adorable smile and the small dimple displayed across her smooth-looking cheeks.

"It's nice to see you, Ziven. It's been what? Almost a month since I've last seen you?"

She questioned with wandering eyes as she thought of the last time she saw him.

He left without her being able to say her goodbyes and wish him a safe departure.

"You're right. I was instructed to return to my home planet for.. some affairs. I had no choice but to follow up on the higher-up's orders. I recently arrived last night."

"You make it sound like going back home was a bad thing?"

She asked, noticing the dark gleam in his hypnotizing vivid eyes for mere a second before returning to their friendly ones.

"It's nothing, really. I'm just glad I finally got to see you again. If not, I don't know what I'd do."

He beamed with the brightest smile she's ever seen on his striking face. His words completely caught her off guard. She was speechless.

Keegan, however, unlike Cymbeline, he had no intention to welcome the male as kindly as she did as he stared at the two with a sour look.

"Fuck off, Ziven."

Keegan hissed with a glare, which quickly brought her back to life.

The little man had his arms crossed against his chest as he kept the side of his body facing the older male with a judgmental look.

She noticed how his magma marks across his arms glowed even brighter than before. A thing that occurred whenever his emotions were out of control or because of his bad temper.

"See, I knew you didn't get rid of the guard alone. You obviously had assistance."

Cymbeline smirked and knuckled his head.

"Hey! That hurts!"

He hissed and smacked her hands away in a jounce, which distracted him from the irritation creeping up on him.

"Next time, give credit where it's due."

She scolds and side-eyes the crap out of him.

"It's fine, Cymbeline. There's no need to scold him for my sake."

Ziven defended with an unknown blush on his pink cheeks and a sheepish smile.

Cymbeline simply eyed him with a raised brow for a brief second before going back to her regular rigid expression.

"Yes, but he needs to learn not to be so greedy and proud. If not, the world is doomed."

She jesters at the midget, who merely scowled at the two. In particular, Ziven.

Keegan's dislike for Ziven was as clear as his midget stature, yet Cymbeline couldn't understand why.

The Alpha was a decent guy.

Never looking at earthlings with disparage and disrespect. Each time eagerly willing to help those in need and stick up for those who were mistreated by his workmates.

His stunning looks were an enhancement to his virtuous and humble persona.

The alien male had gracious silver-blue hair that complimented his magnetic yellow eyes. His physical features were the most unusual and attractive appearance she's ever seen.

An Alpha that many omegas would get on their knees for. Solely for the handsome male to take them from behind as they spread their legs for him, so he could admire their lusciousness bounce in a magnifying motion.

A thing she'd see many omegas do with her very own eyes. A humiliating action she'd refuse to do for any Alpha of any caliber.
