Arden thought that person would start making a threat or something like that but he didn't that person started thanking Arden for he had done.
"Thanks for what you are doing, he needs some lesson sometime," He sighed once more and then Arden just responded with.
"Why do you care about him though? Did you know him?" Arden asked, confused. Why does he care about that trash?
"Well, you could say he is a brother of mine, always making trouble," and sighed once more.
Arden just nodded in agreement and then shrugged his shoulder. He then got a warning from that unconscious person brother.
"You need to watch your back, he has some connections in this city," Then they left the inn and Arden got his room.
He then goes out of the room and approached the two boys standing confused seeing 4 people from the inn just left with one of them being carried.
They asked Arden, but he didn't give any obvious answer to them. Instead, tell them to get inside the inn and go rest for today.
" Sir, what happened to him" They just gave the curious expression and Arden responded with.
"Nothing, let's get inside the inn and rest."He said happily and smiled at them both.
The boys looked at each other and then comply to Arden said. That noon, they had time to get a very comfortable rest, but they needed to explore the city.
So they scheduled it in the afternoon and got a very comfortable rest, Arden is taking a nap like a baby on the soft top quality bed the inn provided.
Then, as the afternoon came, Arden wakes up, felt refreshed and could do any activity he wanted.
He then prepares himself, wears his clothes, equips his sword and for whatever reason... he equips the steel gauntlet, just since something earlier would happen again.
Valen is just enjoying some tea downstairs at the room and the two boys were just in their room.
So Arden approached their room and then knock on the door. There is some sound could be heard inside, like someone is beaten up at a fight.
Afraid if Maverick is bullying Austin, Arden panicked and then thought of burst open the door forcefully. He tried to open the door using the knob, and it works...
Inside are the two boys inside their clothes with swords in their hand training. They cleared the place a bit and start sparring.
Both of them just stared at Arden as Arden stared back at them. He then realizes his mistake and then became embarrassed.
Slowly back out and then close the door, while telling them to continue their business. But the boys rushed out and then asked Arden what they could help him with.
Arden just told them they would explore the city right now before going downstair in embarrassment.
There he saw Valen, drinking a cup of tea and reading a book she found from nowhere. Arden joined the table and asked about the book she was reading.
"What book are you reading?" She just glanced at Arden and start explaining.
"It's a fictional book about a god that made a world in the universe," she continues reading again.
"Cool, where did you get it?" Arden asked curiously and then get a brief response.
"From the library, there is one down the road," Arden just made an excited face and list that library as one of the places he needed to visit.
There would be many books about stories, strategies and fighting technique. He enjoyed getting much knowledge about this world and meeting new people.
But meeting new people that liked to cause problems to others? Not so much. At least he got some experience in dealing with them.
The boys came down with swords in the scabbard located at their hip, like normal occasion. Then they set out to explore the city.
The city is separated into 2 sections as we know, the first part is the lower part that for normal people and peasant and that kind of people.
The second section is the higher part, for richer people, nobles and some merchant. Both parts are separated by the second layer of walls.
Arden and his party are at the higher part and their inn is near the local pub. Since they are hungry, they decided to get something to eat at the tavern or pub.
They enter the building and some look at them before continuing whatever is their business. They then get a table for four and then proceed to eat.
They could hear some people whispering to each other about them being family or some kind, well they do look like a family of 4.
The meal of 4 people cost 1 Auren, but it's delicious food. They exited the pub and then explored the part of the city they are in.
They explore and explore, didn't even realize that the darkness of the night now covered the sky of the city. By the time they realize it, it's already very late.
They decided to get to the inn as fast as possible since it's dangerous to walk at the street this late.
But then, a group of people approached them from afar, about 6 people or so. With a fat person leading them.
Closer and closer, it's clear who is the fat man that is leading them, the person from the incident earlier at the inn.
"Hahaha, you lowly peasant won't be getting back without losing a limb from this place, I'll let you see who dare to mess with me," He then stretched out his arm and then order the group to attack them.
"Boys, you guys protect Valen, I'll take care of them," Then Arden change to fighting stance.
The boy unsheathed their sword while Arden stood up there in a fighting stance with his sword still sheathed.
They came up to Arden barehanded, with their sword ready at their scabbard, but they didn't seem to want to use it since they underestimated the person they are facing.
Someone tried to punch Arden at the face using his right hand, making a big movement doing so. Many openings for Arden and he used it.
He grabbed his hand and then punch the upper part of their arm. Breaking his muscle by doing so, that person screamed in pain since it's more like bone than muscle.
Without any exercise or training, they are weak. Their body is not so muscular like Arden, even though Arden didn't have that kind of too muscular body, he still has some muscle.
Then a person tried to kick him, still many opening. Arden grabbed his foot and then attacked the knee part with his elbow.
Making the person screaming in pain, seeing this, the other 4 people unsheathed their sword. Arden did the same.
Like inexperienced soldiers, even worse than militia, they made a super big movement just to slash their opponent.
He blocked the incoming attack and hit them with the blunt side of his sword, after a good 1 minute, all of them were down in the ground.
He sheathed back his sword to its scabbard and turned to see the person leading the group.He was gone, but then he heard a shout from the distance.
That person actually came to him bringing the city guards, the city guards quickly arrested him but let Valen, Maverick and Austin go.
Without any resistance, Arden let himself be arrested. He saw Valen and the boys returned to their inn.
Arden is brought to the dungeon and put into a cell, the guard said he would go to court the next morning.
He is the only one being brought to the dungeon and he knew that this is not fair. He knew he would get even with them for this, just need to wait for the perfect time.
Fortunately, as it was the better part of the town, the dungeon is better than the one he had been to before.
The next morning came and he is woken up by the guard, still yawning while the guard opened his cell then put his hands on cuff
In cuffs he is brought to the court and faces the judge, once they are there. There are many people, the 6 people from yesterday are also there too.
The 6 people from yesterday, their whole body is covered in bandages, some of them using sticks to help their self walk.
Arden knew this is one of the tricks they prepared, so they played the victim role here. He even purposely use the blunt side of his sword, they would have lost their life if he uses the edge of his sword.
He got to his position, and the fat person from yesterday got to his position too. Arden is still in cuffs as he waits for the judge to start.
The room is filled with people talking to each other, this is more like a pub than a courtroom. Once they saw Arden, they gave a disgusted look to him.
Then the judge asked for attention and began to speak once all of the people there gave their attention to him.
"Today, we will be talking about this gentleman and that person there about the incident that happened last night" The judge then opened a book.
"Let's hear the version from these gentlemen first shall we?" He pointed at the person from yesterday.
"My honour, this lowly peasant attacked us when we were out drinking, he insulted us and crippled us." Then the fake crocodile tears start coming out.
"I understand, guards!!! Take this piece of s*** of my court!!" The judge called the guards from afar.
'Oh no, this judge is corrupted!' Arden thought to himself then shouted.
"YOU ARE NOT EVEN GONNA TAKE MY STATEMENT?" he shouted in rage while trying to free himself from the guard. The judge opened his mouth and tried to say something but got cut off by Arden.
"I, THE BARON OF ASELWEY, IS TRULY DISAPPOINTED AT THIS KIND OF TREATMENT I GET, IF YOU DON'T GIVE JUSTICE, YOU COULD WAIT FOR 3 DUKES RAINING METEORS TO YOUR LIFE!!!" He shouted and the judge just laughed.
"For lying, you will get 30 whips, lying is not good" Then the guard brought him outside, to the town centre and started whipping him.
Then he is brought back to the dungeon, but this time. He is put into the dungeon at the lower part, it's worse than the one before.
What would happen to Arden, he could just get forgotten and stay in that dungeon forever. But no, something would happen and that kind of people would get demolished.
