章節 36: New Set Of Armour
He got into the blacksmith and became a kid in a candy store, seeing various weapons and armour hanging with the price he could afford easily with all his money.
The person at the desk is somewhat familiar to him. It turned out to be Fumihiko, one of his friends. The one that kicked his butt using Naginata in the fight turned out to be a blacksmith.
Fumihiko saw him entering the shop and greeted him, show him around his work. His work is amazing, sharp edge, perfect shape and amazing looking.
The light reflected by the sun is better than the sun itself. Fumihiko even wanted to give him a discount if he brought 3 things in there.
But he underestimated our main character, he is more excited to buy it and wanted to buy all the things inside the store if he could. Unfortunately, he is travelling and the space at his backpack was limited.
But 3 things should fit into the backpack, at least that what he thought. He explored the shop further to see if there are anything good and cool looking for him to bring back home.
Maybe he would be admired by the other nobles? Who knows? There he saw a bow, like a longbow but with white strips on the red coloured bow, the bow itself is made of sturdy wood that could last for centuries with nice handling.
It would be the first thing for him to purchase even though he rarely used the bow itself and the price also matched with his budget of 1000. The bow's price is at 300 mons.
Then he continues to explore, he was just walking at the store and his feet accidentally knocked a thing to the ground; the sound is deafening. Fumihiko even poke his head around the corner just to see if Arden broke something or not.
Arden saw Fumihiko around the corner and quickly apologize to him. He said it's not a problem. Then he went back to the desk and continue with whatever he is doing at that moment.
Arden went to pick the thing that fell down and saw a naginata with a unique engraving on it. He touched it barehanded, and the feeling is just perfect.
It fit perfectly at his hand and the naginata itself is sturdy and strongly built, there is some engraving on the pole and the blade that made it more beautiful.
He began making his way to the desk to ask Fumihiko about the naginata and about the price. He said the naginata is one of his special creation that is made for one of his friends but that person passed away suddenly at a night.
Arden just apologizes and began turning his back to put the naginata back at his place, but Fumihiko said.
"That would go to waste if I can't find someone to own it, I will give it to you for free as a sign of our friendship" Arden hearing this smiled and turned his face back only to saw Fumihiko is stretching his arm out to shake his hand.
To which he took it happily, and he began making his way to more interesting thing for his self to buy. He explored the store and didn't see anything interesting.
Instead, he ended up at the armour section and saw a different and various kind of armour. Most of them he couldn't buy, but the discount made that he could at least buy one he chose.
There he saw an armour, the body, shoulder and lower section of the armour are ordinary looking. But the helmet is different, the crest is amazing looking, and the mask made him look like a demon.
He brought it to Fumihiko at the front desk; he was shocked to find out that Arden wanted to buy an armour from his shop, which is a great thing.
Arden asked a lot of question before buying it and Fumihiko explained as best as he could, the big plates on the shoulder is used for blocking arrow, he demonstrated it.
Once an arrow coming at a great speed from afar and the person wearing the armour notice, he will turn his shoulder to the incoming arrow direction and it will block and deflect the arrow.
The difference between Arden's armour and this armour is the weight, his armour weighs up to 40 kg, but this samurai armour weighs up to 20 kg.
The agility is better, and the protection is basically the same amount even better sometimes. Fumihiko offered him to test the armour if it fit his body.
The process of wearing the armour is the same difficulty as his previous armour, not wearing the armour directly but he needs to use some leather before using the armour directly.
Fortunately, it fits perfectly, the armour itself is plate-bound together with some mail and that made many small holes that air could go through and cool the person wearing it.
Fumihiko explained more to him about it and he actually built the armour with a reference of his ancestor armour from 300 years ago or so.
After calculating the total, it came out to 900 mons but Arden paid him 1000 mons for his help and explanation and also for their friendship and the naginata he got for free.
It's not good to armour, naginata and a bow publicly. Fortunately Fumihiko said he would find someone to deliver it to the house and Arden thanked him for the help and left the store.
He just bought a set he could use in battle, even if the others laugh at it, he liked the set. He started thinking if he should use it at battle.
He got back to the house, but it's suspiciously too silent; he didn't even saw his young squire, but he just tried to not notice and just go inside the house.
He walked inside and didn't even notice the bloodstain at the wall, at first he thought it was from last night but the furniture seems… broken.
Like a fight broke out here, he saw the words in the wall, clearly the language he is trying to learn but he couldn't read it or haven't reached the level to read it.
He panicked instantly and started searching at every room, rooms by rooms he searched and didn't see any clue, no people, just normal rooms with broken furniture and breached doors.
Then he heard the knock on the door and realized it's time for the tutors to come. He rushed to the door, asking for their help. The tutors were confused, but once they catch a glance at the broken things; they rushed inside.
They read the word written at the wall and translated it for him.
"Meet us at the warehouse at the southeast of the city near the ramen shop, don't bring any people if you want them safely," He panicked even more and rushed out of the house and go there.
But some logic sense knocked into his mind. He better use his armour before going there and he rushed to his room. There he saw nothing, empty, not even a single part from his armour is there.
He started thinking and then he remembered Fumihiko shop. He could use the armour he just bought there and the naginata too. And fortunately, he brought his sword with him when he goes exploring the city.
It would be hi "Katana" in case he didn't like the naginata very much.
He rushed to Fumihiko's sword and burst the door open and entered with a panicked face. Fumihiko still at the desk with Arden's thing.
He panicked when he saw Arden burst the door open and Arden just tried to explain the things to him and he quickly helps him use the armour.
"I will go use my armour and I will catch up to you," He said while helping Arden on his armour.
"I appreciate your help, but no, this is my problem," Arden politely refuse and went out the store.
With naginata on his back, the bow on his hand, his sword on his hip and a quiver quarter filled, he walked out in the street.
Attracting many attentions, some called the guard, but the guard knew it was him from his sword and didn't do anything to him.
He reached the warehouse after several minutes and saw one people guarding it; it was the guard from 4 days before, the one that assigned by Mitsuo but later leads their group to a trap that killed Usha.
The person didn't notice him around the corner of the streets and Arden took an arrow from his quiver. Filled with anger remembering what that person did, he aimed his bow at that person.
And release! The arrow travelled fast, hitting him right at the side of his neck. It had been a long time since he used his bow, but he didn't become rusty, his skill didn't deteriorate.
He opened the warehouse door, made out of bamboo, it made a crunchy sound when it touched the ground while being opened.
Then he feels a pain at the back of his head, like being hit by a bat with spikes, he glanced before at it before going unconscious…
