He had only been asleep for a few seconds, so his stamina was near 0. He wasn't in pain anymore and the relief from that let him get up without too much difficulty.
"Oh my god's, are you okay!"
The healer and Jaylen were standing above him when he was getting up.
"Nothing, too bad. My health is still pretty high."
This wasn't completely true, but he had around 40 left which was more than some of the mages had total.
"I'll heal you up pretty quick, and snort his stamina powder so you can fight if needed."
Powders were the lowest level of alchemy one could make, and did not have very good long term effects. The next level was potions which required a better alcomest and often better materials to make, but did not have any negative effect when they were off and didnt have a cooldown before they became effective after use. Pills were the peak of normal alchemy, having effects that could stack on each other or increase whoever takes them permanently.
The powder restored fifty stamina, but after three hours it would begin to fade. He also couldn't use any more stamina powder for five hours except to reset the three hour effectiveness period, but at that point it wouldn't have much use. He now was at 63 stamina which was plenty to get him through this class. He would have to take it easy in his teamwork class, but other than that he would be fine.
Jake took a step back for the rest of the fights. Nothing too interesting happened, but his opponent Spencer ended up winning the whole tournament. Anyone who won a fight got their card and Spencer got another 10 points for winning. After all the fights, Jake had regened about 30% of his health, stamina, mana, and ki so he hoped to display some kind of skill in his final class of the day.
Jake and Jaylen both moved together into the group class. Unlike the other classes, group class had one party for one hour rather than an assortment of students for two hours. His group all made it on time, as the first class was the most important as it was when you get to know your teacher.
"All teachers are asked to skip the intro, but I will be your group's instructor for all six years so I'm doing it anyway. My name is Doctor Yorion, I'm level 72 and I'm a Reaper. In case you didn't know, it comes from warrior, then dark warrior, then death warrior. My abilities mostly include manipulating death, like creating a realm that makes it impossible for people to die. It's already set around this room, so there is no need to worry when in combat."
"Now, everyone separates into close range, medem range, long range, and other."
They all did and were then put into rows with two in front, three in the middle and four in the back. Jake was one of the mittle members with Criss and Jeremy. Yi, Jax, and Yin were in the front and the rest were in the back.
"I'm going to summon a monster, it doesn't give exp so doing greed for damage and go with your instincts. Let's test your natural teamwork."
A large knight that stood 30 feet tall covered in black armor appeared, and everyone began to fight. Yi just jumped in front of the knight's sword to block it, and even though he was successful, it cut through the bone in his left arm before stopping on the left. After only around ten seconds, his arms were fully healed again and ready to block again.
The Marksmen were all shooting, Jake and Ray were both throwing their spears/tridents repeatedly at it and the rest were just attacking. Rebeca kinda just stood there after using a curse of frailty on all her allies. They were switched on living beings, so everyone gained strength and the knight would have benefited from both of her buff/curse spells because of it being undead, so she couldn't do anything.
The death knight slammed its shield into the ground, knocking back everyone and destroying all of Jaylens summons. They were so shattered that even with mana she couldn't animate them. Everyone immediately jumped back into the fight with no hesitation.
"EVERYONE STOP!!!"
The death knight dissolved into the air as Yorin yelled.
"You guys are going to have to work as a unit, you have one person focused on tanking and the rest are just dealing damage. No healing and Jeremy is doing nothing but punching it with low strength."
"You would get crushed by any enemy who is faster than your tank, has area of effect attacks, or even has two weapons. Not to mention multiple enemies at once. But at least you are all a lot stronger than most of the first year groups. From what I've seen, your dark priest needs to learn to inflict wounds, your shapeshifter needs to learn anything that can do anything, and the rest of you need to learn to play around your tank."
"Let's keep working."
For the entire hour, Yorion was cretecking and telling the group what skills they needed. Fortunately, due to Jake's high stats he didn't need to learn any skills. Everyone else besides Ray needed skills or to boost stats before the whole team could really start to flourish.
