章節 15: Chapter 15

He picked them all up off the floor and organized them. They now lay in stacks based on material and sworded by strength. It had Iron, Steel, Silver, and Fire Infused Iron(Flame Iron.) If he took some of the flame iron and used the two fire gems he had just cut he would be able to make a very strong bracelet he was thinking about making. He hadn't really shown himself to be a fire mage so he was hoping to make something with more fire skills so that he could be recognised. He wasn't sure if he could take the metal freely or how expensive it would be so he couldn't actually take it.

He cleaned the place up and then messed with the other broken items. He couldn't appraise them and definitely couldn't fix them but they had some interesting designs on them. The swords had dragons on them, but not the ones he knew. They were thin and long, wrapping around the entire blade rather than just on the hilt or a part of the blade. He couldn't handle the power of many of them as he needed to be at least level 10 to use uncommon gear, and 25 to use rare so he was nowhere close to using them.

Opened up the boxes and took out one of the re-forging blades. The whole box was of brand new swords, so they all had common rank and he could weld them. He channeled a bit of ki into it as the fire was lit. The flame was yellow and white burned him on touch. Normal wood burning fire wouldn't hurt him so he knew they would live up to their reputation. It was a double edge blade made of flame infused iron with the hardened flame crest on it. It was the same one he got when he learned the hardened flame technique, so it was likely he could create growth type items with it.

Growth type items were very rare in Jake's world. Mostly because nobody wanted to go through the work of battle hardening it and they were always made at a common rank, but required materials from at least rare. He wasn't too happy that his main spell was held on his weakest item so if he picked up a new main spell that could increase with him, it would be perfect to go as his inner accessory. But he still needed the metal he would need as well as a design that could work efficiently. Growth items could be painfully complicated to design, and he knew that it would take hours just to plan and probably days to forge properly. On top of that he would probably need some magic beast parts to empower everything and make it work. But for now, he was focused on getting to know his new workspace. He also sorted the broken items by how hard it was to repair them and then spent the rest of the time meditating and circulating his ki in hopes of gaining a little bit more power.

"Time to get up, work starts now."

Shen picked up his hammer and got to work.

"Start shoveling coal and pay attention, and go help customers if they come in."

Jake pickled up a shovel and started to move coal from a pile into the hearth. Shen was using his hammer precisely, guiding the metal into a long shape. Every hit infused it metal with more and more ki being channeled through the hammer. It slammed in over and over again for more than twenty minutes before he used a pen like tool to carve into it. He then asked Jake to pick up the blade using tongs and cool it off in the water. It was far hotter than any normal metal could go so he could still feel the heat and power around from almost four feet away. It looked like a mountain of steam that came out of the water, covering the entire room before dissipating. The sizzling sound also echoed away slowly, but he could still hear Shen over it.

"When it's done just put it on the desk over there and then pick a hilt for it."

There was a variety of hilts under the desk. Some had gems, some had carvings of animals or other swords, somewhere curved, somewhere straight, but all of them were well crafted and would look amazing with any blade. This specific one was a khopesh, which was only straight for a few inches before it curved into a C shape. Even after cooling the blade was hot to the touch due to being made of flame iron, he wanted the hilt to represent it well so he chose one with the lion sitting on a crescent moon. He wasn't one hundred percent sure how the blade was connected to it, but whatever it was he had no idea how to do it.

"Nope. The half moon represents small and swift strikes that hit with precision, this is meant to disarm, pick something else."

He sounded like he was a little disappointed with the choice, but wasn't too mad as he had just gotten the new recruit today. Jake looked at the hilts and the blade again, trying to find something that might symbolize the disarming functions of the sword. He looked for a bit but in the end didn't find anything that stood out.

"This is the best one in here for this blade. The camel shows its use in sustained combat and the curved rivers around it show it has solid movements instead of fluid ones. Now I'm going to attach it so watch carefully."
