章節 24: Escape
" Here's your room sir " The butler said before bowing and walking away. Once Cole entered the room he was surprised with the magnificence of the room. A king sized bed , a one way view mirror showing the city's magnificence . A table was strategically placed next to a shelf of books to read.
There was also a wardrobe filled with expensive clothes next to it. At once Cole headed to the bathroom to take a shower. He hadn't had one in days and with the constant sweating he reeked.
Once he took a shower he went to the wardrobe for clothes. He took a couple of them and placed them in inventory for future purposes. For now he took green cotton pajamas to wear.
He had been previously instructed food will be delivered in the room no doubt to hide their presence in the suite or rather district.
He jumped to the king sized bed and sat in a lotus position. He concentrated on absorbing mana but he gave up half way. His body and mind was exhausted and trying to continue the process would be stupid .
He laid down in bed as his eyes slowly closed , his tense body slowly relaxed .
** Next day ***
On a large golden decorated room sat the leaders of the nine districts. They sat in a particular fashion of executive meetings. All had anxious expression about the incoming attack.
" I understand that all of us are anxious about this incoming attack , however we can not escape. We have built this city from the ground up and no way in hell are we giving it up to the demons. We shall stand our ground. " Gena said confidently.
" How do you expect us to fight against those demons. Their army power levels are higher than ours not to mention that they are more than us . " A dwarf said. He had a grey beard and was muscular.
Gena nodded in understanding.
" That is true however we have warriors at our disposition and not to mention the royals and nobles stuck here. Surely kingdoms will send their armies to protect their kin . " Gena said making people's anxiety drop.
" Very well then we should... "
BANG !!!
A large explosion was heard. Gremin came in a hurry with urgent news.
" Milady , the army was a diversion . The demon elite has hit us from the opposite direction. " Gremin said.
Gena internally gritted her teeth. That was the direction she was to use to escape. She of course had another route, an underground tunnel. However it would take her to north side meaning she will have to travel double the distance with double the vigilance so as to safely arrive Elfyim.
She stood up and made brief eye contact with everyone.
" We stand our ground and fight. " She said with an air of confidence.
The succubus looked at Gena amusedly . Her purple eyes scanned Gena and her next words internally terrified Gena.
" Aren't the demons after your niece ? " She asked inquisitively. The other district elders started murmuring under their breath . They of course had information that the niece of Gena Feybourne was being sought after by the demons and that her own brother sacrificed his daughter.
Gena internally cursed this damn woman. She knew for a fact she wasn't the traitor but rather was trying to sacrifice by dumping her niece .
She had to word her words carefully . She could use the betrayal of the demons to her advantage but that would not be enough. She needed to provoke them to greed.
" The demons have be known to go against their word especially without a contract. Do you think if you deliver the girl in front them they will negotiate ? Forget about provoking them with the girl's life because she'll most likely kill us all as a defense mechanism.
The best option is to fight. Besides that , demon elites have been known to have a transplanted core in them. The core is incredibly valuable and five of them can even help you advance to demigod level. " Gena said.
She heavily depended on their greed and thankfully their greed so happened to be their future doom.
" I'll go uh.. See the battlefield. " The 7th district leader said. As he ran away.
It was quite for some while before the rest did the same . Gena had succeeded.
Gremin approached Gena.
" Will you be going milady ? " Gena smiled at him.
" Of course, I am after all their leader. " She said as she too blitzed to the battlefield.
On the battlefield you could see the 7th district leader, a tall human , commanding his residents as the 50 elite martial artist demons attacked killing everyone indiscriminately. Their prey were weak creatures who had yet to train so it was as swatting bugs. The wall was penetrated through and the surrounding area was burdened with fire and falling buildings.
" However gets me the body of one demon will be rewarded 10000 gold coins. " He shouted.
This stirred the residents as they rushed to attack the demons with greed in their eyes. The demons were slightly brought back and with the saint level district leaders fighting them , they turned on the defensive.
That was until the prince personally arrived. He had bat like wings as he levitated on the air , red skin and fire replacing hair. He seemed to be in his early twenties but in actuality he was nearing 60years.
His aura descended on the battlefield incapacitating everyone including the demons. He was after all lower demigod level.
" Shit when did he ascend. " Gena murmured.
This wasn't really her day. Despite being peak saint level , Infront of a demigod level even if it is a freshly awakened one she was nothing but an annoying pest.
The prince descended to Gena with a small maniacal gaze. He was so close to collecting his prize.
" Where is my bride ? " He asked. Gena used all her willpower to jump back when a mana powered canon was fired at the prince's position.
The prince withstood the attack as it was a grandmaster level attack. And to him it was nothing but a massage.
He chuckled looking at Gena .
" Is this all you have got ?" He asked mockingly . Another canon was fired followed by another.
The prince stood their amusedly as the ground below him grew deeper in the ground and became hotter than ever.
After the canons stop . He blitzed to Gena and grabbed her neck.
" Tell me where my bride is and i'll give you the honor of becoming my concubine. " He said with a tone agitation yet with a hint of lust.
Gena gave a smile that slightly bothered the prince , a smile that screamed checkmate .
He suddenly felt nauseous and weak. Gena seeing this didn't hesitate to send a punch to his face. He flew backwards and hit a building making it fall on him.
The pressure that everyone experienced was uplifted and the men with newfound courage rushed to the demons who greatly worried about their prince hence limiting their battle prowess.
The Prince got out of the rubble as he spitted blood. He glared at Gena with menacing eyes .
" What did you do " He screamed in horror.
Without warning a golden coated spear suddenly appeared in her hand and with great force she threw it towards the prince.
A demon seeing his prince about to die jumped in front of the spear. He used mana to make his body stronger. His body was now as durable as steel.
The spear however easily penetrated through him like cutting butter and penetrated the Prince's chest
The demon looked at the prince one last time before falling down dead. The prince on the other hand shrieked in pain as he tried to remove the spear.
However when he touched the spear he felt an excruciating pain in his hand.
Gena walked to the Prince with a smile however to the prince her image was replaced by the grim reaper coming to collect his soul.
" S-stay back . Am warning you. " Once Gena was close the prince tried to hit her but she dodged and took the spear from the prince body making blue blood escape his chest cavity.
He groaned in pain but currently he needed to retreat. He unfurled his wings about to retreat but before he could fly away Gena slashed the wings . The prince screamed in pain as he fell down.
He started crawling away as Gena followed her prey.
" To think the great Prince Jake known for his boxing skills was nothing but weak pathetic creature " Jake couldn't deny . His air of superiority was gone replaced by his fear of death.
Gena flipped him over so that she could see the pathetic Prince.
She grinned sadistically as she raised her spear. Jake closed his eyes waiting for his inevitable end.
Suddenly he felt hot blood smear his face.
' Oh god am dead ' He thought as he slowly opened his eyes . However to his surprise and excitement, Gena had been impaled by a muscular hand through her chest cavity.
She became weak and released her spear. She looked behind to see Gremin .
" Why ? " She asked shocked by the betrayal.
" Better pay " That was all that Gremin said as he retreated his hand making her fall to the ground.
Jake who previously cowered in fear regained his confidence as he stood up. His healing was thoroughly slowed down for a demigod level creature.
He knew that the only thing that could weaken him like this was divine energy so that meant those blasts were filled with divine mana.
He gritted his teeth.
' I was too confident , now this bitch shamed me infront of the whole world ' He thought. He approached Gena who was bleeding out.
He gave an evil smirk as if it was all part of the plan and he wasn't cowering in fear a minute ago.
He raised his leg about to kick her but he felt extreme pain assault him however he played it off.
" Even my boot shouldn't touch insignificant specks. " He said arrogantly.
Gena looked at him and with the miniscule strength left in her body she gave that same damned smile that Jake had felt a bad premonition from.
" See you in hell " She said . The prince eyes widened as her body glowed.
Jake turned to Gremin .
" Take me out of hear " He shouted but it was too late.
BOOM!!!!
Everything in a 10km radius was blown apart.
A huge crater was formed and everyone on the battlefield was dead except for the prince.
*** Underground tunnel ***
BOOM!!!
The explosion echoed through the tunnels while simultaneously shaking it a bit.
Four people in back clothing turned around to the source of the explosion and a certain blonde haired lady smiled.
' So my plan worked perfectly '
