Sans any pretense, Horcus wasn't all that confident that the Obelisk would agree to Gover. 

There were far too many factors to take into account. The most worrying of them all was that the Obelisk refused the idea of having competition. Since they were on the search for the conjurer of the Manna trail, they wouldn't tolerate anyone who wished to share custody. 

To put it briefly, the Obelisk was as selfish as it could be. 

Both Horcus and Gover focused on the cube, their hearts beating an erratic melody as they waited for the Sorcerer to speak.

Gover raised an eyebrow upon hearing the voice. It was different from the one earlier.
