Every year, in each of the seven villages that made up the great Kingdom of Ignas, a Choosing Ritual was conducted. During this Chosing Ritual, one of the ladies in the village would be chosen to be the dreaded Dragon King's Bride.
No one knew exactly why the ritual was being performed every year or what happened to the brides that had been chosen in the past.
Was he turning them into slaves?
Feeding them to his dragon?
Or was he... feeding on them?
That couldn't be ruled out. After all, there were rumours that the king wasn't like them, that he wasn't human.
Yet the question relentlessly troubled the people's heart.
What was he using them for?!
But they dared not question the King, afraid of what fate daring to go against him would be.
Anyways, none of these was Belladonna's business. Although it was her village's turn to produce a bride this year, she was certain she wouldn't get chosen.
Why?
Well, because she had a plan and she was absolutely certain it wouldn't fail her... or would it?

Dear author I absolutely love this book... Can't seem to get enough or want to stop reading. Please update soon I have to know what happens next. This book truly is a gem worth admiring. I like how you show that as much as she has been through she still has a heart of gold to let her offenders live. I like how you keep the kings identity a mystery it makes us readers all the more curious and wanting to see how this story unfolds. Can't wait to see more chapters
I give this book five, five, five stars!!!!! Yes!!! This book is amazing, stupendous and magnifying!! Hehe, I am not exaggerating at all, just read and find out yourself! It is filled with tragedy, mystery and above all, a very dark King(which u so much love!!) The fl is a total vibe and I just love every character in this book!! The only down part is that there are some errors and the story is a little fast paced but you can't just help but be drawn to the story which is a very good thing the author implements! I love it so far!❤
THIS BOOK IS AAAAAMAAAAZZZZIINNG..!! I love everything about it (well mostly😆 some of the names could’ve been more exciting lol) The ML is as dreamy as they come..🥹 Dare I say it? YES! I DARE SAY IT..! Haha. He have knocked all the prior MLs off the first place - including Riftan! YEESS!! He’s THAT dreamy 🥹🤧❤️ The FL is incredibly clever and has black hair - BLACK hair girl! After all the loooooong novels.. finally! Some recognition of us black haired. This novel is a VERY crafty one indeed, lol. Complicated and with more questions than answers. You’ve to be in to this sort of thing. I love it. It keeps me on my toes and keeps me from getting bored, which I usually will pretty fast. There’s some jumbling about with wrong names sometimes and sure the grammar isn’t perfect. BUT, it’s very readable and the images that the author conjures up are spectacular. Especially the ML has a way with words I haven’t come across before🥹🥹 I’ll send him my panties in the mail any day he pleases 🥹❤️ A+++++++++++++++ AND ++++++++++++ from me. It’s a masterpiece and one of my ALL TIME FAVOURITES!
Read all free chapters and I have only good words to say about this book. World building is simple but still with an intrigue. Characters come to life with narration and dialogues. Language is clear. The start of the story is solid and makes to read further, to find out what FL will do next and what is ML's secret(-s). Add to your library and enjoy!
I really like this book so far, the characters are developing very nicely, and I still don’t know what the big secret is and who to trust….. it’s wonderful! Keeping me on my toes.
Dear author, The story is the most interesting story I've ever read this month.
I really have enjoyed this book so far. I love the mystery and that the story keeps me guessing the whats going to happen next, why it is happening, and how each characters involved in the mystery. I also very much love the slow burn romance and sexual tension between leads and enjoying the different questions in my mind about their relationship. I do hope that the author will include a bit more information about the world and how its works etc as so far while there is a lot I love about this story, I feel the world itself is underdeveloped and more details about how it works etc would help the readers immerse themselves better into the world of Ignas, its people and the different characters of the story. Other than that, I very much have enjoyed reading this novel so far. The author has done a good job keeping me hooked and I look forward to more chapters when they come out!

I rarely leave reviews but I'm glad I decided to read this book & if you enjoy fantasy romance then I believe you'd love this book as well .
Well I finally finished it. My ship crashed and burned and didn’t even exist despite the hints and tension and very much possibility it just kept getting forced down for whatever reason. I never wanted Eli to die, but he did. I felt that was pointless because he literally gets resurrected and gets her pregnant with twins in the end so…i feel if he was gonna live anyway why bother killing him. I don’t feel everything belladonna went through was necessary in any way. All that she’s suffered did not make her stronger, it did not make her smarter, it did not change her. She literally got beat down every chapter, basically became a nobody in alaris’s arc, only for her to die when she finally had a purpose. Then she went through that trial with the fates wanting to murder her only for them to leave her with a life/generational threat. That means her kids, grand kids, great grandkids will have to pay the toll. Wtf? Yet that’s her happy ending? Cant this girl have any peace ever? This story felt like it had a mission, it felt like it had a purpose but was executed very poorly. The ending wouldn’t have felt so lackluster if it didn’t take so long. Majority of the things that happened in this book literally doesn’t even matter. I don’t even know why alaris was even made a character. his arc had nothing to do with the main plot nor story. It feels like filler in the book just to make it longer and same for kestra’s daughter, that stoic knight, and everything. Even though belladonna was the main character,everything that she went through was never for her, it was always for someone else and now that the book is finally over it all was literally pointless. That’s just sad. This book was pointlessly depressing.
