The winds cut his skin as Azuma ran down the steep hill. He could feel the cold creeping inside his lungs and spread to his blood. But there was a fire in his eyes as breathlessly ran.

Surrounding him were rough plains of rocks that spread far into the unknown. The small crystalised and scattered puddles were the only source of dim light.

"Why are you in such a hurry?!" Haru complained from behind.

She did not dare carelessly run into such a place, and her worries and annoyance were spiking by the way Azuma rushed in.

"We have to—!" 

Haru was at a loss of words.

The whole area was made up from harsh rocks, one wrong step would be enough to break bones and end the selection for Azuma once and for all.

Why was he being so reckless?

There was enough time to finish the missions!

And could anything be more important than your own life?
