"Why does our pretty Young Master look like this?" Arta squeezed my cheek the moment she saw me for our last fitting. "Where is the usual beautiful smile, mm?"

Do you know? It was easier to pretend like nothing happened and everything was alright in front of strangers. It was harder doing it, however, in front of people we knew well. Perhaps I just wanted to get pampered, but I couldn't manage to keep my face from souring in front of Arta.

You know what was even more ridiculous? I felt jealous.

I was jealous that Arta was able to see Natha, unlike me. 

I chewed the inside of my cheek and fiddled with the hem of my tunic while looking up at Arta carefully. "What is Natha...doing right now?"

Arta raised her brows and stretched her lips wider. "His Lordship?" she pinched my cheek lightly again and held my fiddling hand. "Shall I tell you what he's been doing while you changed then?"
