Callum’s proposal ricocheted through my skull as I stalked toward the Barnhouse. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t tempted. But, he’d given me 24 hours before the deal would be struck off.

However, what really pissed me off was Callum’s had been sitting on this for three days, waiting. For this, for me. A ‘gift’, he had declared, to sweeten the deal. Bastard. Yet, now wasn’t the time or place to think about that or to let my emotions for her cloud my judgment. Lola held no place where I was going, and I had a job to do.

With each step I took toward the Barnhouse, I became colder, darker as the killing calm overtook my body. Until Sam Waters seized to exist and the demon that lurked beneath my skin snatched the reins. I become a weapon forged by death itself to devastate my enemies.
