After three days of non-stop travel, Mora slowly worsened on the last day and became so vulnerable and defenseless. Danny was able to return her to the dark natives' underground territory with the aid of the head chief's bird informants.

Mora was back in the healer's cabin, where Celestina's coven had been staying. She was lying on a cold stone bed next to one of the healers' tables in the room. The healer observed the motionless young witch's body being moved from one table to another while she was unconscious and lying face up with her filthy green tunic unbuttoned and off. 

The healer began to chant in a low, soothing voice, her hands moving in slow, deliberate motions over Mora's body. She placed her hands on Mora's forehead, her chest, and her stomach, drawing out the negative energy that was making her so weak and helpless. As the healer continued to chant and move her hands, Mora slowly began to stir.
