章節 29: The New Servant

It was the same night I fell asleep in Ian's arms when he asked me to sing him a bedtime song before sleeping. It was the same song I sang him the last time, Sleepyhead. Ian gradually fell asleep to the sound of my humming, and he was used to falling asleep with my nipple in his mouth, like an insecure baby.

The dreams I had in the second half of the night made me restless, and the voices returned to me again. In the dreams, I fell into endless darkness. I didn't know whether to move forward or backward, and more and more voices were heard around me. The whisper of ghosts mixed with the sound of the wind.

I was so nervous that I couldn't breathe, as if there was a scarf wrapped tightly around my neck. I wanted to cry out, but I couldn't. I kneeled on the ground in despair. Then, a long hand reached out from the darkness. I grabbed it as if I had found my savior.

"No!" I grabbed the hand that was about to leave. "Don't leave me in the dark!"
