Ten minutes... Twenty minutes... Thirty minutes. The same pattern repeated itself continuously. Sneak attack. Dodge. Confront. Ben calculated and realized that it takes the Cardinal Head Spider nine minutes to spit out another corrosive venom. If it wasn't so, Ben, who's to confront the beast would have turned into a bloody puddle by now. Once its venom is on cold-down it follows by spinning out large nets of web. After such a long time the spider was finally able to grow a few braincells to know that if it goes in like this, more ice and frost will accumulate in its transparent yet surprisingly sturdy body and drill into its bones. Sooner or later it'll be in a disadvantageous position.
ROAR!!!
The Cardinal Head Spider couldn't take it anymore, it spat out three jets of its corrosive venom straight at Mia at the same time lunging at her while bypassing Ben's blockade. The Cardinal Head Spider launched the attack incredibly fast, this left almost no room for an ordinary man. Key word 'Almost' and 'Ordinary'. Thankfully Mia wasn't an ordinary person but a quick witted elemental swordswoman. One of the most valued personnel in Carolin city.
Mia quickly built an an ice wall that surrounded her like a cone from the incoming attack. sizzling sounds could be heard as the corrosive effects of the Cardinal Head Spider's venom landed squarely on the ice cone. A loud bang followed with the giant crash landing on the cone. A large crack appeared all over the ice cone, Mia smartly increased the thickness by squatting down to hold-on on the relentless attacks the Cardinal Head Spider was unleashing on the small but thick cone.
This was one of the advantages between an ordinary swordsman with an elemental swordsman. Having an elemental seed doesn't just mean you have powerful attack power but also a good defense, if trained well that is. In this case, Mia was just lucky because her domain helped a lot in holding the burden. It was only about a dozen attack yet she can't hold on much longer. If the ice cone which is her only line of defense crumbles...
"Despicable!" Ben mumbled. He didn't believe the darn thing would no longer play according to the script deciding to change the rules of the game in its favor. Ben knew Mia might not be able to withstand another two hits and that will be it. "I need to drag it away if not Mia will be knocked out cold... cough, cough."
Gathering the ice elements in his Universal plane and using the help from the ice domain he formed four ice that ride up, they danced in the air like snakes. The Cardinal Head Spider was stunned by the appearance of these chains that came out of nowhere. The appearance of the chains made the beast temporarily halt its attack on the ice cone, saving it from collapsing.
More than a dozen eyes were watching all four ice chains as they dance in the air above it. When Ben saw he had successfully distracted the Cardinal Head Spider away from the ice cone, he decided to not hold back and give his all into his attack.
"What happened? Why has it stopped attacking?" Mia was doubtful and unsure what the situation is outside but it wouldn't mean she'll let that put her guard down.
Holding the ice cone barrier drew a lot of energy so she mustn't slack, her only regret was not let either get in or make a run for it as far away as possible. 'Maybe running away sounded much better for him because staying in the cone with me. I don't think he can last ten minutes' Mia thought to herself, never would she have thought that an intense battle was going on right now.
Bang Bang Bang Bang
Four chains were being lashed on the giant spider with a lot of force. Ben gathered a large amount of ice elements at the body of his sword and slashed towards the Cardinal Head Spider. "Bind." Ben said this word in a low shout as he made a gripping gesture with his hand.
Immediately, the chains stopped lashing, three of ice chains entangled eight of the creatures legs while the last one crept over its body from below, circling round its abdomen and with force pulled it to the ground.
Ben didn't for once stopped attacking. He kept unleashing his powerful sword beams onto the giant spider. Ben would sometimes jump or duck to dodge the venom it kept firing at him. The Cardinal Head Spider was now becoming too sluggish and weak, the chill has penetrated into its body from the legs. Two of its legs got broken from its struggle.
"Come on you darn thing. How long must I do this to squash you?" inbetween slashes Ben kept cursing.
Mia who hadn't left the safety of the ice cone suddenly felt intense energy fluctuation, so she decided to step out. What she saw made her jaws drop making an O. In less than ten seconds Ben has moved to give different locations and releasing ice chilling sharp sword beam that miraculously doesn't miss. And then there's four chains made of ice that were wriggling around the half iced spider that now looks almost like a sculpture, all looking like as they released ice poison into the cuts and skin of the Cardinal Head Spider. In less than two minutes the battle was over.
"Mia, are you okay?" Ben came running to her when he saw her just standing there dumbstruck.
"Yeah... yeah I'm okay." she stuttered.
"Oh, good. Now we need to get the crystal core of the spider to cure the delusion it's causing back at camp." After saying that he took his broadsword and came close to the creatures skull.
"Do you know how to extract a crystal core?"
"Kinda, why? weren't they written in the books?" Ben replied. In fact he doesn't even know the procedures in extracting the crystal core. He had secretly asked Lucy to locate it's crystal core and show him some simulations he could use to extract it.
"Well it's written, but we don't have a core container to collect the crystals." said Mia.
"What do we need a core container for?"
"If memory serves, fierce beast have what you call crystal core this shows their status as fierce beast, as for demon creatures they not only have crystal cores they also have demon souls, therefore a core containers is used to collect crystal core while a soul container collects demon souls." all that information just got choked into Ben's head in a matter of seconds.
Since Lucy's info came from his head he couldn't hear a word that Mia said, in order to look normal he asked. "Can't we just put it in a bag or something then take it back?"
""No!"" both Lucy's and Mia's voices were heard. "a core container has a separate space that doesn't allows its essence to disappear." Mia explained.
Ben dropped his sword to contemplate on what to do. If he can't take the crystal core of the Cardinal Head Spider how is he going to save his fri... teammate. Then an idea struck him.
"Can the spatial ring of a wizard do the job?" Ben asked out of the blue.
"Although I don't know much about wizards except for the books I've read about them, all I know is aside the fact that their rings can store things only those who have reached what they call Unspoken of the second class can use the ring to store anything." Mia recalled the things she's read about wizards. "I remember hearing you're a Chosen and was given a ring, too bad you can't do anything with it." she pause as though she just remembered something very important. "how were you able to do this? How is it you now have a elemental seed, and an ice one at that? you're not an elemental swordsman are you?" these were questions she really needed answered to.
"Uhm, kinda. And yes I'm a Chosen guys guess you've already seen what I can do. Maybe I have both occupations in me. This is spatial ring that was given to us, it does have separate space within it, can it work?" asked Ben holding up a key black ring on his hand.
"Did you hear a single word I just said? you have to be an Unspoken of the second class or above in order... " Mia was cut short as she saw more than six big books appear out of nowhere, being held by Ben who could barely support the weight, then all six books turned into strings of white light and flew towards to the jet black ring Ben was now putting on.
"It doesn't apply to everyone and everywhere. Stand back, let's get this stuff and get out of here quickly." after sitting the books back Ben brought back his sword and aimed for the head.

A Few Hours Back.
"Jeremy, this has nothing to do with us okay. What's wrong with you?"
"Go to hell all of ya. Argh!!"
Jeremy circulated violent wind energy around him making countless wind blade, he dashed towards Bob with his sword raised high above his head. Determined to kill.
"Back off you piece of shut!!" Flash too didn't want to reason with words anymore. He too was bursting out thick earth element. Yellow-brown glow surrounded his entire body as he engaged with Jeremy's elemental attack head-on.
Bob had healed two-third of his injuries thanks to Ben's consumable lotion, it took him less than two hours to get two-third of his strength back but now he wasn't even a match for Jeremy who looks like he's been given some stimulants, only Flash could hold him off.
As both men fought the energy that leaked out were sharp and dangerous. Trees were left with scars, the earth was split. And because of the leakage Parker's ropes were also cut, freeing him. Another mad man. Parker was watching the fight like it was his favorite show until he saw Bob leading the girls away from the fight. His eyes sparkled, he certainly wouldn't forget his prey.
"Vanessa, baby! you're not trying to leave without me, are now?" Parker staggered as he tried heading to where the girls were, he totally ignored Bob's presence.
"Parker, you've got to get it together man!"Bob said blocking Parker from advancing any further.
"Bobby, if I were you I'd get the hell out of my way out else it won't be a few blood you'll lose, you could lose your life bro. So why don't you step aside?" Parker stopped before Bob, he placed a hand on his cheek and gave him light taps. With that he kept moving forward. Here Bob didn't compromise instead he stood his ground and pushed Parker back then drew his sword.
"Parker don't let me do this."
"looks like I'd have to get rid of you Bobby." Parker said remorsingly yet his eyes hada very wicked smile, it was as though he was glad he'll be killing Bob anytime soon. Seeing Bob standing firm to defend his prey he found him a nuisance.
Clank Clank
Bob and Parker were engaged in a fierce fight with their element. Trees and grass, rocks and sand were broken, some sent flying from the impact. The girls were wise to retreat a safe distance from them.
