Yuxi placed a call over to Shihuan. But after two rings, there was no pick so she gave up.

She pulled into the driveway and ran to the elevator.

As the elevator dinged at their floor, she got off and went straight to the kitchen.

Her father was holding a toasted bread to his mouth and her mother turned from the sink to see whom had entered.

"Mother, father..." Yuxi was out of breath, and her chest rose and fell at a speed.

"What is wrong with you?" Mrs Bai asked. "Why are you out of breath?"

"Are you being pursued by someone?" Mr Bai asked, putting the bread down. "Where's Xueyan and Qingran?"

Yuxi shut her eyes, their questions was giving her a hard time. "Mom, dad, Xue is fine and I'm not being pursued by anyone..." She paused.

"Then where's Xueyan? Qingran and that little boy?" Mrs Bai still wanted to know where her child was.

"Mom, dad... Actually there's something I need to talk to you two about."
