Greg, as an obedient boy, sent Lana a message fifteen minutes before the end of the working day stating that he would wait for her at the same place where he dropped her off in the morning in half an hour. Such accommodating and understanding behavior got Lana a little strained. Something here was not right. A bad promotion did not leave her all the way to the specified location.
Greg met her with a broad, warm smile, but he didn't get out of the car, as she asked him before. It became even more suspicious. Lana walked around the car, keeping her eyes on Greg's beaming face. As soon as she opened the door, her nose was hit with a strong, but very pleasant and slightly intoxicating scent of lavender. The smell of this plant she always liked, although many couldn't stand it.
Greg waited for her to sit down and handed her a small bouquet. Very unique. It was lavender, along with puffy clouds of cotton and some other unique flowers or plants. It was a lovely bouquet.
"Here. I recall, you always liked to hang bundles with this plant in the room. Then this smell irritated me to no end. But after ... Anyway, I hope you like it. It looks as gentle as you. Although it may be a little prickly. Be careful." - He said in a low, enveloping voice, looking her straight in the eyes.
Lana's heart almost stopped from such an attack. It was not fair at all. Lana felt herself melting like a puddle at his feet.
Greg smiled wider, seeing Lana's cheeks flush. And that was his mistake. Lana's eyes immediately narrowed.
"What are you up to?" - She asked suspiciously peering into his face.
" I? Nothing. What are you talking about?" - Greg raised his eyebrows slightly, continuing to hypnotize her with his chocolate eyes. But Lana was not fooled.
"Talk!" - She demanded in a harsh tone.
Greg sighed and looked aside with a face full of hurt.
" I really have some news, but the bouquet has no ties to this. I just wanted to please you ."- looking at her back with sadness.
Lana immediately felt ashamed. She lowered her eyes to the bouquet, twisting it tentatively in her hands, and then putting it aside, reached out for Greg.
" Thank you, this bouquet is just wonderful. I've never seen such pretty thing before," - Lana said, wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling him closer.
At first, Greg puffed up a little but still allowed himself to be kissed. But from the tender "Thank you!" The kiss quickly began to acquire entirely different meanings, Lana barely had the strength to stop the kiss, pushing Greg away, who was already over her, pressing Lana into the seat. He slightly moved away, but remained above her, not taking his darkened gaze from the girl. It promised a lot.
"Greg, slow down. We are in a car in the middle of a busy street. People can see."
"So let's show them something interesting," - he said in a slightly hoarse voice, smiling slowly.
Lana could not resist and laughed.
" I'm afraid nobody will appreciate our show."
"Oh, dear! You underestimate me!" - He answered with a grin and having winked at the blushing girl, finally returned to his place. Engine grunted, and Greg skillfully led the car onto the road.
Lana watched him as he drove. Greg did not even suspect that he was much hotter when driving a car than when he specifically tried to seduce her. The way the muscles and veins in his arms tensed, an attentive, serious look and confidence in every movement. Mmmm... Lana swallowed, barely restraining herself from asking Greg to slow down at the nearest sidewalk.
Meanwhile, Greg, unaware that he was making his she-wolf drip with saliva, decided to start a conversation.
"So, about the news. I have an offer for you. I have already said that I think we should solve all the problems together. Therefore, I decided to take the first step on my part. There are two essential questions. So for a first one, I will allow you to make a complete and final decision, and for the second one, you will let me decide everything myself. What do you think about that?" - He asked, checking her reaction with a quick glance. Lana frowned. It smelled fishy, but so far everything was too foggy.
"More information, please, Greg. How can I agree to who knows what?" - Lana urged him. Greg sighed.
"As you wish, Madam investigator. In short, the second question: On Friday there will be a Charity Ball, and I want you to go with me as my couple." -
Hearing this, Lana already choked with outrage.
" Greg, are you out of your mind? It's one thing to hear rumors in your company, and quite another go public for everyone to see! There will be paparazzi, celebrities, and reporters. This is worse than if you put me in the middle of the main hall of the company with a sign: "This woman seduced the CEO, poke a finger at her for just a dollar."
"We would get rich, though, and you have a specific talent for business! - Greg grinned.
" Greg, I'm serious. How do you imagine it? What if someone starts asking you about me? What do you tell them? This is my girl, she is a dishwasher from a cafe and can sometimes turn into a wolf! And it's not a figure of speech."
"Lana, sooner or later it will happen anyway. About the shifters, of course, we will not say anything, and your worries about work are total nonsense. Besides, you are no longer a dishwasher, but the chief baker."
"The only baker," - Lana corrected him, squinting suspiciously, - "How do you know, by the way? Are you watching me while I work?"
"Nooo ..." - Greg assured her with honest eyes and noted to himself to find something to threaten Frank with so he wouldn't tell Lana about Greg's direct access to the security cameras in the cafe.
"So about our deal," - Greg quickly turned the subject back, - "You will agree to go to the ball with me and let me present you with pride to all my associates and not so much. Also, we will buy you a dress, indecently expensive."
"You say it like I am some kind of dog, which you want to show off before your neighbors." - muttered Lana, suddenly remembering the words of Daniel.
As soon as Lana's words left her lips, Greg sharply pressed the brake. The next car barely escaped from the collision, and the driver hit them with a vicious beep. But Greg paid no attention to this, turning to Lana. His face suddenly became grave, and his eyebrows met on the bridge of his nose.
"Ruslana. Dog, monster, - when you call yourself with all these words, you call names and humiliate My woman. And my woman is not my property, but a part of me. So try not to do this in the future, " - Greg stated sternly, with clear notes of anger. - "And I will show you off with pride because I think that I should be proud of such a woman. You are strong, brave and beautiful. And I want everyone to know about it, and most importantly, that you should finally understand it yourself."
Having finished his lecture, Greg finally started the car again and drove off. Lana stared at the road, not knowing how to react to his words. And the she-wolf inside squeaked rather pleased, picking up her own variants of how to respond.
"Ok, I understood." - Lana finally gave up trying to calm the disgruntled Greg. - "So what about my decision?" What is my question?
Before answering, Greg spun the car around and parked. He switched off the engine, turned to Lana, and again looked intently at her face.
"I've already said that you can chew this trash throat off, and I will help you hide the corpse. So it was not a joke. You can do whatever you want with her, I will support you anyway. It was she - Angela Laib - who set up the accident in which Nicky got hurt."
Hearing the last words Lana started. The heat wave seemed to go through the body. A roar broke out of her throat, and the fangs lengthened. She could barely control herself in order not to shift right away here.
"Leave it to me."- Lana could barely grumble through her teeth. Surprisingly, her sharp transformation did not frighten Greg at all, as if he was expecting such a feat. With a broad smile, he reached out and scratched Lana behind the ear.
"Ok, we will discuss everything later." - He reassured Lana patting her on the head. At this moment, his smile for Lana seemed for some reason no less predatory than that of a werewolf.
