Genny's eyes widened at Kyle's harshness. That was completely unexpected.
"C'mon, Kyle! Why are you being this petty? I apologized already. I traveled all the way here just to see you. The least you can do is give me a hug and welcome me happily considering we haven't seen each other in months. I don't know you to keep grudges," Genny said with a slight frown.
"Petty? I'm not being petty. I hold nothing against you. I'm not mad or upset. But I already have plans. My girlfriend will be here soon and...."
"Girlfriend?" Genny cut in as her already broken heart cracked again.
"Yes. My girlfriend will be here soon and I don't want her to meet you here and misunderstand...."
"You have a girlfriend? Since when? I thought you were in love with me?" Genny blurted out.
"Yes. Were. That was in the past and..." Kyle paused when it occurred to him that he had not confessed his feelings to Genny, so how could she have known?
