The light shined brilliantly yet remained contained by the steep walls that surrounded the small courtyard. 

"Mother." Li Jun muttered as he looked up at the figure above. She gazed down toward him, but her eyes weren't exactly looking at him. 

"My child, the time has come for you to know the truth of your father's death." She said Li Jun let out a slight gasp as he prepared himself. 

"The night I met your father, I was helpless and in a desperate situation. I was injured greatly by an attack by forces in the world beyond these lands." She said that Li Jun felt his heart jump at the words.

'The land beyond?' He questioned himself, but deep down, he knew what she meant. It was the place the Patriarch would soon enter now that he had reached the peak of this world. The heavens, or at least that was the term he knew it as.
