"Feng Yu, do you understand now?" Ying Yue asked him while he silently nodded.
"Ying Yue, I made a mistake. I'm sorry. Forgive me"
"You fucked up. You know that you fucked up. You're sorry. I get it. Trust me, I get it. But you being sorry, won't change what you did. You being sorry, won't change the way that I look at you now ... it won't change how you I feel about you, now."
"Everyone has their limits. Their boundaries. Lines, that once you cross, you can't cross back over. I had a line ... you crossed it ... and now I'm drawing another line. This time you gotta stay on the other side of it, away from me".
As Ying Yue and Feng Yu were conversing, Feng Mian was currently receiving a report on the situation downstairs in the lobby.
"You're saying Lady Ying along with another man is causing a scene in the lobby?" asked Feng Mian without looking up from her papers, furiously speeding her hands over the page.
"Yes, ma'am. Shall I call security?"
"No need, as long as they injure others it's fine, "Feng Mian paused briefly before continuing, "Send him down to take a look at the situation too. Also, make sure people stop standing around and go back to work"
Her assistant nodded in reply before leaving the room and respectfully closing the door behind her. She then took out her phone and quickly sent a message out. Downstairs in the lobby ...
"Ying Yue, I ...," Feng Yu wanted to say something by ultimately decided against it, "forgive me".
Ying Yue knew that despite Feng Yu causing the first wound on her heart, she was causing the rest. Feng Yu was the start of all her pain and misery but through all the years she kept it going. She thought that it was him that made her feel this way, but now she truly understood that it was her inflicting pain on herself when she won't forgive.
Despite the how he hurt her so painfully 5 years ago... she has never forgotten the happiness he bought her when they were together. With all the smiles he bought her, she just didn't think he would bring her some much tears.
Everyone makes mistakes in life, but that doesn't mean they have to pay for them for the rest of their life. Sometimes good people make bad choices. Those choices don't make them bad, ... just human.
Feng Yu was waiting anxiously for a reply, almost feeling as if Ying Yue would never forgive him in this lifetime.
"Alright, I forgive you," Ying Yue said, surprising him. "Not because you apologised or because you acknowledge the pain you caused me. But because my soul deserves peace".
"...ok, I understand" Feng Yu said. Ying Yue nodded her head and turned to leave but Feng Yu stopped her once again.
"Wait! Ying Yue....we can't go back to the way it was?"
Ying Yue looked Feng Yu in the eyes before shaking her head, "No, we can't. It's no longer simply about being together due to love. I can't go back..."
Feng Yu looked dejected but nodded in understanding, "....then can we start over?"
