章節 44: Bound by Blood

Ru had hoped to wake up in a bed, as usual. Instead, he woke up in a bathtub.

He jumped up thinking, "They stole my kidney! He immediately stood in front of the full-length mirror.

There were no stitch marks, so his kidneys were intact. But his clothes were missing.

"I was raped!"

He tried to check this situation too. As much as he knew and as much as he could feel.

"I don't think so," he said.

He put on the witch's burgundy robe.

"Witch...that thing made me think of 'djinn.'"

He immediately turned to the mirror. He opened his left eye with his hands and looked carefully at his iris.

"It's an eye, oh my goodness!" he said, and then he thought of Jenna.

"He burned her to ashes! That fucking djinn!"

And then he thought about the djinn's conversation with the witch.

He thought he hadn't heard it, but somehow he knew what had gone on between them.

"Neither of you are going to teach me any magic. I don't understand what is wrong with you."

He washed his face with plenty of water and looked in the mirror once more. The green of his eyes was mixed with the insidiousness of jealousy.

"My djinn burned my vampire to ashes. My witch took my djinn and made him a policeman. And they threw me here in the bathtub as if I didn't matter. Ouch!"

He quickly came up with a plan.

"I can learn magic on my own. I just need to have materials like the Djinn's mark and the witch's orb."

He was about to open the door when he gave up and stood in front of the mirror again.

"Should I threaten the witch instead of stealing things?"

He shook his head disapprovingly.

"It will affect me. What if I try Djinn?"

He shook his head once more in the negative.

"He can take over my mind and use me as he wishes. He must do something else, but what?"

He paced around the bathroom. He even brushed his teeth and combed his hair. A bit of grooming must have done the trick, because he said, "I've got it!" and slowly opened the door.

With silent steps, he made his way to the witch's room.

The red light seeping under the door was alarming. He decided to peek through the keyhole.

The room was lit with a crimson light, and the floor was covered in intricate symbols drawn in blood. Whispers echoed off the walls, announcing the start of a dreadful ritual.

Ru took a step back. He placed a hand on his chest to calm his racing heart. "It's okay, you're used to more," he told himself.

He looked through the keyhole again and saw someone lying in the center of the ritual circle. Ru thought he recognized the white-haired figure.

"Claude?"

Some dark incantations were muttered inside. The witch was naked, holding a knife. Next to her was a big guy with ice-blue eyes.

When Ru saw the man's eyes, they were intense and seemed to send a sudden shockwave through him, he felt a sudden rush of fear and quickly took a step back.

"Oh, it's him—the genie."

He quickly overcame his fear and turned his face back towards the door.

"What am I going to do?" he thought, his fingers raking through his hair in frustration. The strands slipped through his grasp like grains of sand.

Ru had to break the ritual. But how?

"What should I do?"

He was suddenly reminded of the girls who used to say, "You have to whistle, Daddy."

"Yes!"

As he was about to open the door, he thought, "What if it doesn't work?"

His hand started to shake and he felt a cold sweat break out on his forehead. Ru was scared.

"I have to do it," he said through his teeth.

But his feet went back.

"You've got to do this, Ru!" he told himself.

"But why?" he asked himself. "Why am I the one who has to save Claude?"

"You're right, I sent that idiot here to save you, but that idiot got himself caught. So run and don't look back," said a very pleasant echoing voice.

"Almighty Ru," Ru said, frowning. He noticed his shadow growing taller and changing shape as it grew taller. It had horns and, well, it looked like it had long hair or something.

"Run away, my little one," Ru The Great said in a kind, gentle voice.

"What are you, an idiot?" Ru asked him and himself.

"What are you talking about?" Ru The Great asked, sounding annoyed.

"Maybe Claude is a magical being. What am I going to do if they take his power and become more powerful?" Ru asked.

Ru The Great admired him, "Amazing, my clone is smarter than me."

He was about to continue when Ru ran away.

"Where are you going, maniac?" Ru The Great asked, but he could not reach him. For a while, he remained on the ground as a vague shadow. Then his connection to Planet Earth was severed by the guards of the crystal tower.

In those minutes,

Anaxarete stood in the dimly lit room. The candlelight flickered, playing on her smooth, bare skin, casting soft shadows that highlighted her curves. She had a snake-shaped dagger in her hand. And she was humming a spooky melody over and over again.

"Shadows creep and darkness deep,

Ancient powers, spirits sleep.

Blood and bone, a wicked tone,

Unleash the night, let darkness own."

The witch was dancing around Claude, who was tied in the center of a ritual circle drawn in blood.

Claude was conscious but his body was exposed, laid naked on the dark ground and tied to stakes at his wrists.

As Anaxarete moved gracefully, her eyes caught sight of the policeman—a tall, muscular man with long flowing hair. He stood close, his presence commanding and protective.

"My sexy blue one," she whispered.

There was a kind of attraction and tension between them. When Anaxarete was almost ready to complete the dark ritual, the electricity running through the officer's body made a strange crackling sound.

The candles flickered and their flames suddenly rose as Claude looked at him. Anaxarete felt a burst of desire. She sat up on her knees and crawled towards her captive. The room was filled with passion. All three of them were breathing faster at the same time.

The Djinn Sultan approached the circle with slow, confident steps, his body radiating heat. He reached out to caress Anaxarete's waist, sending shivers down her hips with his touch.

This turn of events gave their captive Claude a glimmer of hope.

"Please release me," he said.

Anaxarete looked at him, and he seemed so innocent that she felt a desire to taste his blood.

"I can't help you," Anaxarete said.

The Djinn Sultan laughed.

"I'll give you anything," Claude said, but Anaxarete ignored him.

The Djinn Sultan went over to the young man and bent down. "What do you want?" he asked him.

"I want to leave here alive," Claude said.

The Djinn Sultan looked at him, and then he touched him on the lips.

"You have such beautiful lips," the Djinn Sultan said.
