As of Ch.466: [TRANSLATION QUALITY] -Naming- Even with so many staff involved, there is no confusion and naming standardization is top-notch. Every character's name is the same throughout the translation making google searching characters to freshen up memory easy for those who do it. -Spelling- I didn't notice anything after reading through the chapter, and after putting it through a Notepad++ with spellchecker all I got was some false positives in US Eng vs Brit Eng spelling differences. All in all, the English is coherent and the translation is consistent. [CHARACTERS] - Expect a wide variety of characters and a glossary will be needed. In terms of character presence there are introduced characters who will follow the MC throughout the story as a team, introduced characters who will be relevant to the ark and maybe get an appearance later, characters who are introduced but always kept in the background appearing occasionally as hidden mechanisms, and of course characters who are introduced and then thrown into a trash heap. So character importance for memorization is unpredictable as even some seemingly irrelevant ones become important cogs in the machine. This is a plus from me, but also why you will need a glossary. - In terms of character variety, let's just say you will be reading a bit of Game of Thrones here, with very varied character personalities, motivations, alignments, both antagonists you will root for and antagonists you will hate. Some side characters have MASSIVE impact on the story and MC, so they are not just throwaways to make the MC's aura shine above all. The interactions are complex and political, and a lot of characters are susceptible to varied development and influence that can be both bad and good including the MC. The MC is not perfect, far from it, but he is also awesome in his own way and is put by the author through some very tough situations for growth and not all of them are win-win situations (which is the biggest plus I give to this story - the author has balls and doesn't shy away from tragedy). As such the MC is actually relatable. [BATTLES AND CULTIVATION] The cultivation system is basically the mid stages of humanity developing a new system after the complete crash of the typical Xianxia cultivation system with spirit energy and the whole shabang in the past of the story. As a consequence the MC isn't just blindly following preset rules but spends a lot of time researching, being creative, and creating his own path in the world. Unlike many other stories where protagonists gain super-techniques from past creators, this MC is the creator of his own path left mostly to his own devices and inspiration from the world and helpers around him, and he is also a teacher and an influence upon others. The battles are pretty varied, are easy enough to visualize, and the author gives some basic descriptive reminders of techniques last i remember. The only thing i could whine about is that i sometimes lose track of the comparative power-levels due to descriptions, but that may be down only to me and my memory and requires input from other readers as well. A glossary won't be required for battles anyway. [STORY] Romance is present, is monogamous, and will develop slowly, and I also don't give a toss about romance. Now that we got that out of the way: Story progression is varied, sometimes quick and sometimes slow and sometimes in-between. The important part is that the side-character bits are not too long but rationally proportioned, and when they are long they are actually relevant and worthy to read through as normal, or have a noticeable buildup which gives them value. As i mentioned before, lots of politics, lots of character building and development, author takes the writing in unpredictable ballsy directions sometimes. MC actually feels mortal rather than immortal, is stuck in some bad situations where outcomes are unpredictable - not always the best, and sometimes even the worst. [GEOGRAPHY] A glossary isn't required for it. The locations are repeated enough times, and the relevant storytelling is usually concentrated around a certain location at the time such that memorizing is not required. The world building isn't much too big at this point. The author prefers to make the most out of least, and as such the locations are smaller in number than other novels but their descriptions are more fleshed out and tied to the politics, cultivation system, and story writing. The only thing i don't like is that it's tougher for me to make a mental map of the world compared to other novels for some reason (i knew the reason in the past but forgot by now as i'm reading over 50 other novels dammit), however the painting of the locations themselves is pretty clear, and most importantly the geography changes and its changes impact the story tangibly in both politics and cultivation.

One of my favorite novels to date. MC is not that OP, diligent, and doesn't have a scheming character which is a refreshing surprise. Endearing at its finest and his achievements will make you feel like a proud mother hen. Author has a reputation regarding world building from his other novels so there is much to look forward for this one. Translation quality is nice and translator team is superb with regards to updates. I just hope the translated quality will stay consistent since it seems different person are handling the translating and editing per chapter. Thank you Fang Xiang and the translator team for bringing this novel to light! :)

Love it. The MC is accurately mature through the things he's had to go through, ****** it interesting to see his dynamics with the other characters. Only thing is I wish we started in the wilderness but I understand why we didn't. It creates a sense of mystery.
Fang Xiang is my all time favorite novelist, I am taking bets here.. I am willing to bet this will be QI most popular novel, overtaking other veteran novels like TMW, AC and LoHP. Anyone who read WoC, UGW can attest to that! Please give it a go! And that release rate, oh my!
The story suffers from the same flaws as most chinese webnovels: low quality writing/editing, unoriginality, unnecessary monologues and info dumps. The same character tropes like in A LOT of other stories fx: The fat 'funny' friend, and the beautiful and strong (possible) love interest. The story also suffers from 'dragging on the story to meet word count'-syndrome. Thanks to obsoletefactor for review.

@ chapter 69 This story has enchanted me, everything about it. The MC doesn't seem op at all and instead just seems to be ****** an amazing foundation through hard work.
This is one of the very few novel where the MC is (most of the time) sick or disabled and mostly unable to slaughter the God and Buddha and defeating someone outrank him. The use of teamwork is emphasized and other characters other than MC actually have personalities. This is in accordance with the writer "tropes" which is also the reason why I love (most) of his works. Rather than the usual lucky-genius-protected-by-bazillions-plot-armors, our MC is in constant (and believeable) perils. There are lots of death in this novel but because the author way of fleshing out personality of non-MC character, we actually feel a tinge of sadness for every deaths, even the enemies. TL Quality: 5/5 A top notch translation team. A typoe here and there and sometimes gramatical error, but none will distract you from immersing in the story world. A constant and stable use of naming so we get an easier time to remember most if not all characters in the story. Updating stability 5/5 A tad slow but a very stable release. Really hope that the ranking is getting better so our TL Team get more Qidian Currency that they deserve. Story Development 5/5 One of the reason why I love Fang Xian works. Our hero is fleshed out in a natural and believeable way. There is no sudden upgrades or meeting the old guy in a cave. Not even the usual finding one of the kind treasure which enables the MC to instaslaughter the enemies. Our MC literally and figuratively put his blood and tears for his developement, not for a revenge but because a very ****** and humble reasoning. Later on, he gained a new reason and drive to improve himself, which is presented by a heart-wrenching scenario. A good timing of humors here and there. A good pacing in the arc(s) development. Also a real sense of achievement for all the progress we found Characters 5/5 The characters in this story are well developed. They have personalities and a proper drive to strive for better. There is practically no "Evil Mastermind" who unreasonally evil. There are lots of politics though. We can't even really hate the enemy factions because they also have their reason to survive. Those overused arrogant seniors bullcraps are very rarely used, and even in the very small number that we find it, they are presented in a logical way of how actual human being acts. World Background 5/5 Avalon world building is top notch. The basic "science" is logical. Things happen in a reasonable nature. Maybe because I have read the predecessor of this story (World of Cultivation) I have some kind of bias. But I personally think that any kind of readers who read this story can immerse themselves in the world of Avalon. In the end, it is all about taste. Some of the readers, of course, love those kind of selfish-genious-lucky-MC who have a bazzillions of harems and a warehouse of ancient one of the kind artifacts. Our MC, doesn't even have any artifact, constantly in a debt, and have only one love interest. The love story is truly believeable and reasonable, as it grows step by step as how reality works. I believe, the readers who are tired of the usual niche of single-MC-who-wiped-all-enemies stories will love Fang Xian works in general, because it involve actual politics, human interactions and reasonable plot armor.
Excellent story. No annoying harem, genuinely touching scenes, a narrative that connects with the reader, emotionally invested relationships and complex character portrayals that aren’t just caricatures. (Like our good friend Bangwan, for example... I’m surprisingly fond of him lol.) An unique/intriguing MC to follow and a plot that remains captivating without overdoing it. Honestly was close to tears at some points in this series. Add a dash of humor to flavor as well as some good old kickass and you have a great read. Minor plot holes, but I consider that rather insignificant in the overall read. One of the better written novels so far out on Qidian not merely as a wish fulfillment story - highly recommend & my compliments to the author + translation team on it.
i don't know why this novel is slipping through the ranking. this is best in all aspect. guys are you not giving enough powerstone??? the chac of ai hui is one of the best i have ever seen. and the world design is over the top
Truly a hidden gem, I'm only 150 chapters in, but the writing is much more like an actual story as opposed to a broken record of a tween dream that other cultivator novels are.
My favorite novel on Qidian. It starts a bit slow but keeps building up. The main character is very interestingly portrayed, unlike many Xuanhuan novels. Thanks for the translator for the translation quality and the update stability, really enjoy that.
