Maimuna felt something wet on her skin which prompted her to open her eyes. Despite the fatigued feeling and the soreness in her muscles, she managed to peel her eyes open. 

Their gazes clashed. Unlike before, the magic between them was filled with corpulence. Malik was startled by the unexpected collision. 

His head was tilted in a way that their eyes were on the same level with his lips a distance away from her forehead. 

An electric current went through them. Love wasn't the only feeling hanging in the air between the two.
