Sophia woke up to the sound of her groaning. Her head was aching, and her body felt weak. She tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over her, forcing her back onto the bed.
"Valerie?" She muttered, her voice barely audible as her visuals normalized slowly. "Where are you, Valerie? Have they gone yet?"
As she lay there, trying to catch her breath, Sophia realized that she was in a cell. The walls were made of cold, grey concrete, and the door was a thick, metal slab with a small window in it. Sophia's heart sank as she realized that she was a prisoner.
But why? Who would do this to her? And where was Alex?
Sophia's thoughts were interrupted by the sight of a sandwich on a small table in front of her. She was suddenly aware of how hungry she was, and she reached out for the sandwich without hesitation.
