Cane entered the bedroom, which he occupied with Iris after he retrieved his bloody cloak from the carriage. He put the cloak down on the table and approached the bed, where Iris was sleeping soundly.

Cane didn't say anything when he heard what Aliana said. He stared at Iris' sleeping face. There was a crease between her brows, it seemed, his actions really bothered her.

"Leave the cloak, Aliana," Cane said sternly when he saw from the corner of his eyes Aliana was about to take the cloak away because she saw the bloodstains on it.

"But, this is dirty and I..."

"Leave it be."

Aliana didn't argue about it anymore and simply left the bedroom.

"Iris," Cane called her name softly, once Aliana had left him alone with his mate.
