Clyde didn't even bother to look at him until a fragrant scent reached his sense of smell. He couldn't name what it was, but it was sweet and rosy, with a hint of a delicately-petalled flower. 

The moment his blue eyes finally met Mervyn's pair of violets, and he saw for himself the figure of the Omega who would likely be known as the mother of his eldest born, an image came to his mind.
