WHAT IF?
Jack was sitting in his apartment, Jack's house was a sight to behold, it was stunning, and every inch of the house was breathtaking.
The living area is a sight to behold, with comfortable, plush couches arranged in a way that encourages relaxation and conversation. Large windows offer breathtaking views of the city skyline, while ornate lighting fixtures highlight the intricate architectural details of the space. The walls are adorned with tasteful works of art, reflecting the owner's impeccable taste in fine art.
The kitchen is expansive and fully equipped, featuring top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances, custom cabinetry, and high-quality countertops.
An island in the center of the room provides ample space for cooking, Although he doesn't use it.
The bedrooms are spacious and appointed with the finest linens and furnishings, ensuring a restful and luxurious night's sleep. The en-suite bathrooms are equally impressive, with marble floors, walk-in showers, and deep soaking tubs designed for ultimate relaxation.
Jack's mind was not at peace, He was holding his phone to his ear. On the line were his three best friends, all talking at once.
"Jack, we heard about your father," said George, his voice filled with concern. "How is he doing?"
Jack was surprised, he hadn't told anyone apart from Lily and his mom, "How did you guys find out so soon?"
"He called to tell me," Alan said with a mix of emotions, "My dad only told me that your father was in the hospital and I told the guys"
Alan's father was also in the mafia business and just as ruthless as Jack's father in the mafia world, Alan and his father don't see eye to eye.
"He's in a coma," Jack replied, his voice thick with emotion. "He's in a hospital in Mexico."
The line was silent for a moment as his friends processed the news. Then, Ben spoke up. "Are you going to Mexico, Jack?"
"Yeah, I'm leaving tomorrow," Jack responded. "I need to see him and figure out what to do next."
The line was silent again, but Jack could imagine the worry etched on their faces. They all knew about Jack's father's reputation as a mafia boss, and they were worried about Jack getting too involved in the family business.
"Be careful, man," said George, his voice low. "You know what it means if your father doesn't wake up, right?"
Jack nodded, even though his friends couldn't see him. "I know. But I don't want to think about that right now. I just need to focus on getting there and seeing him."
"I understand, Jack," said Alan. "Just be careful. You don't want to get dragged into all of that."
"I won't," Jack promised. "I just need to see him and figure things out. But I appreciate your concern, guys. It means a lot."
The conversation turned to practical details, of when Jack was leaving and what he needed to take with him. But Jack knew that the worry and concern of his friends would always be with him, no matter where he went or what he did.
