章節 1: The sword that changed my life (Updated)

In the cultivation world, it's the survival of the fittest. The strong trample on the weak, that's the only law in this world. In this world, your life is worth nothing if you're weak. Even if you're in the right, the strong get it their way and things are always in their favour regardless of the situation.

One can be a cultivation genius, but if one doesn't survive till he fully grows, then he's no different from a man who had been sentenced to death since birth.

In a faraway mortal village where the weakest cultivators reside, there lives a young child at the age of 13 with his family which has a strength of a few hundred. Also acclaimed to be the strongest village around this desolated area.

Mortal villages are places where all the Martial Apprentices reside and according to the laws of the true cultivation world, a family or developing sect must leave the mortal area if someone steps into the Martial Master realm. The second major realm on the path of cultivation.

Swinging his sword around on the Nascent Mountain, he could hear a voice whispering into his head. "You should return home now... They are waiting for you..."

He ignored the voice again and again, his movements turned faster and sharper. Get out of my head! Everyday, he hears the same voice whispering in his head again and again without failure, yet the feeling of desperation grows stronger every time and this continued for a year. The more he tries to shake if off, the stronger it returns in a more persuasive manner.

On that fateful day where the child finally turns 14, his family was attacked by a mysterious enemy and his whole family was massacred. He was only lucky to stay alive since he was sent away by his family to the Nascent Mountain behind his village for a menial task...

That day, he had only been trying to pour himself a cup of water when he accidentally dropped it, the cup then shattered into pieces and one of the sharp pieces had cut one of his younger cousins. In order to apologize, his parents had suggested for him to seek for some medicinal herbs in the outermost area of the Nascent Mountain where it was safe, never telling him that that will be their last meeting.

By the time he gathered the herb and return, the sight of his loved ones laying on the ground breathless shocked him. Not just his loved ones, but everyone in the family including his aunts and uncles, cousins and nieces, servants and guards. All of them were laying on the ground motionless, their blood staining the concrete ground red.

Nightin started to blame himself. Why am I this useless? Why am I this weak? Why wasn't I around then? His eyes turning puffy red.

Nightin knew that it wasn't a coincidence that he was away, his family had caught wind of the impending attack and got him to leave. His body felt weak.

Nightin also knew that him dropping the cup must have been intended by them. he understands that his presence would have been useless, but what he doesn't realize is that those corpses, are actually still warm.

Tears streaked down his face uncontrollably as memories of him with his family flooded into his mind.

He wanted to take revenge, but held no qualifications as a mortal.

He wanted to end this misery, but he doesn't hold the qualifications to.

He was the last heir in line and the best he can do now, is to stay alive and continue his family bloodline.

"Father, mother, brother, sister... I promise to avenge all of you no matter what it takes! Heaven why are you doing this to me! Just what have I done wrong to deserve this!" Nightin swore to the heavens as he knelt down on the ground, he wanted to cry but his tears wouldn't do anything to change something that's already been fixed.

Boom!

Rumble!

Thunderstorms brew in the sky. The marshmallows turning into ominous beings.

His tears still fell onto the ground uncontrollably. How could a innocent young boy have deserve this?

Unable to accept the pain and the destiny which has been thrown onto him. His shoulders felt heavy, a great burden was thrown onto him. The need for revenge as a mortal.

His eyelids felt heavy and he needed a break, but he told himself that it isn't time yet. Searching around, he found a time-worn shovel in one of the houses and began to dig the graves of his loved ones, each one he dug meant another glass sword stabbing into his fragile heart.

Every teardrop signified one grave and by the time he was done, his mind was fuzzy and his body had already lost the ability to cry. Carving the names onto the tomes of every family member he can remember of, had drained him of his mental strength quickly.

By the time he was finished, the sun had already swapped shifts with the moon.

"I'm sorry that I wasn't able to be there for all of you when all of you needed me most, but rest assured that I'll make sure that all of you manage to rest in peace.." Nightin's whimpering voice and crying was then soon flooded and swallowed by the merciless drops of water.

The heavens might not have expected this, but this small turn of events would be the reason why Nightin finds another reason to live and why this universe will continue to exist till the end of eternity.

Nightin knew that staying here to wallow wouldn't solve the problem and the best he could do right now was to find a path of his, he had to place his trust into the sword he held since young, or it was all he had right now.

Running into the nearby forest once again, he went to his usual spot where he trains his sword. Everyday, the young boy made it a point to go through the tough routine, eight hours of swordsmanship training a day. One must not neglect the fact that he's merely a mortal.

For a mortal to spend eight hours on swordsmanship daily for seven years since the age of seven wasn't a simple task, it was a miracle that his body didn't even collapse, perhaps this holds the key towards him being a cultivation talent who's restricted due to something... Maybe... There's a way...

Getting into the cave which he occupied every day, a sharp glare of light suddenly blinded his eyes. Yet, his eyes didn't feel any piercing pain, all he felt was that the light was trying to guide him. What is this light? Nightin asked himself timidly.

He had been here for years, but such a bizarre situation has never occurred before.

The light was making a huge attempt to pull him out from the shackles of chains restraining him in the darkness amidst the chaos.

He didn't feel fear, he just felt close to it. It wasn't something he could explain, but the chains on his body right now just felt too surreal. Just knowing that it's an illusion wasn't enough to calm him down.

Just then, something hidden within the bushes caught his eye. It was an exquisite long sword with majestic dragon carvings on it. It had a deep shade of crimson red. Out of curiosity he picked it up and then the next moment...

"Congratulations to the host Nightin for being the first and only person in history who unlocked the Legendary Sect God System! With my assistance, you'll definitely be able to stand at the peak of the world!"

Nightin was shocked when the sound appeared, the next moment a list appeared in front of him.

LSGS system

Cultivation: None

Rank: None

Skills: None

Inventory: Newbie gift pack

After a few moments he calmed down and thought about it carefully. Thinking deep down in his heart "Who cares what this system is as long as I can get stronger with it?"

But oblivious to him, he actually knows how to use the system without any guide, it was as if he was familiar with its usages. He didn't notice this though, the system was actually making use of some hidden advanced and futuristic technology to seal off his mind path to this thought.

The next moment, he thought to himself "Open the Newbie Gift Pack."

"Congratulations to the host for unlocking the cultivation system and the foundation sword moves!"

At this moment, a set of foundation sword moves entered Nightin's brain. He panicked, but soon calmed down after realizing that it held no threat to him.

Nightin was amazed and captivated by the sudden information he received. The foundation sword moves he were seeing right now are similar to the one he knows.

Yet it eludes the intent of sharpness, impact and the speed to execute the move with the least strength possible.

Besides needing the least strength due to the change in the angle of swing, which in turn reduces the air resistance faced when swinging, it also increases the speed tremendously.

If the two were to be compared. No. The two can't even be compared, it's like trying to compare heaven and earth to each other. If two cultivators of equal cultivation were to face off with the two different sword levels, the victor was obvious.

To be even more precise, even a mortal might be able to kill a Martial Master without any difficulty with just a single move at its peak. Can any cultivator not shudder in fear when facing such a terrifying foe?

This doesn't mean that it's a shortcut though, he still needs the resilience and perseverance to brave through the daily training. This was merely a guide path to assist him, if he decides to be lazy, then all this would be futile and end up down the drain.

Mastering an advance sword move may be easy, but repeating the same task of just swinging the sword in the same motion everyday was much different.

The process was dry and the benefits that can be gained are so minimal that it can be neglected usually.

Nightin looked at the system as a series of information appeared in his head. From what he knows now, the system wouldn't be assisting him much personally.

Its only job would be to assist him in the building of the sect. Such as giving out suggestions or paths to take; providing the needed facilities; providing the pinnacle cultivation grounds to his sect including the best resources if missions given by the system are cleared.

He didn't know why, he just held all this information in his head and he felt a burning desire to start building up his sect. But this would have to wait until he seeks revenge and has the strength to create a sect.

[Timed quest has been triggered, time limit: one month]

[Kill the supposedly mastermind who is the family head of the Rosa family, the current strongest family around the area with the family head being at the eighth grade of the Martial Apprentice realm]

With this, how would the life of Nightin turn out from here as he makes it to the peak of the world, through great effort and determination. If people were to ask him what brought him this far, he can laugh out loud and tell them.

"I made it this far though blood and tears, but all you guys paid was pain and sweat!"

The effort he went through would be enough to make him bleed profusely. Externally, internally, mentally, emotionally and even the pain of the heart. This however wasn't enough to extinguish the initial small flickering flame within him, but it will grow into the greatest flames in the world which can never be matched, a burning passion within his heart which one can never hope to extinguish.

"Now then the cultivation world. Shudder in fear when I make an appearance as I'll make sure that all of you know my sword!"
