Begging

My heart was thumping loudly in my chest, to say I was scared would have been an understatement.

I was terrified.

I took in my surroundings once more. I was currently seated at the counter of a shady bar, it was practically empty, besides me and the bartender there were just two other men sitting at the far end. The atmosphere was strangely quiet; definitely unusual for a bar.

I jumped up when I heard my phone ring, my agitation getting the best of me. I glanced down at the number on the screen before taking a deep breath and picking up.

/"I'm here just like you asked./" I whispered into the phone. I could hear the nervousness lacing my voice.

/"Rick will be here any minute now./" Dominic's stony voice answered from the other end.

Just as he had spoken these words I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and came face to face with a burly looking man.
