章節 12: Chapter 12 - "Who said I don't want to?" [Rewrite]
The dinner was going smoothly, and although Linda (Taufik's mother's name) occasionally teased Taufik about his type of woman, the family dinner was full of smiles all the time.
Maybe because the age gap between Jenn and Linda was not that big, they looked like sisters.
# A/N - "Taufik's mother was around 40, and Jenn was in her mid-30s, so it was not that far"
After dinner, the family continued their activities in the living room, talking about how Taufik was at school, what he always did, or how Jenn fell for him so fast.
The Answer that Jenn gave was that Taufik was such a charming man and so frank about his feelings. Although, at first, she did not take it seriously because they were students and teachers.
But the accident this afternoon may have changed her perspective on Taufik as a whole.
Not only that, but in the one month they were together, she always felt safe and comfortable around him. However, once again, the student-teacher relationship made her think twice about her feelings.
And just like that, they chatted about their lives, the meetings and separations they had been through, and much more until midnight. Looking at the time, Linda said with a teasing smile, which she directed to her son.
"... Okay, let's finish it for now. It's time to sleep. We have kids who need to go to school tomorrow, after all, Ahaha~ So let's sleep"
Hearing that, Taufik and Jenn also look at the time, and it is indeed already midnight; realize that when they talk about life, time moves very fast.
When you talk about life, time leaves you, but when you chase time, without realizing it, the life around you will leave you.

"... Humm~ where should I sleep?" Jenn asked.
"What are you talking about? Of course, you sleep together"
Linda replied, giving an answer with an expression as if what she said was the most correct thing.
"What?"
Jenn and Taufik said at the same time.
"B-But Mom, isn't it too fast for us? I'm still in high school, remember?"
Taufik said, trying to argue with his mom.
"Yes, you are, but she's not"
Linda said, pointing at Jenn, ending the argument before it could even begin and then going to her room directly.
Seeing his Mother walk away just like that, leaving him and Jenn Speechless, once again, Taufik realized how absurd his Mother was.
Taufik and Jenn then stared at each other, confused by Linda's absurd reasoning. Then Taufik took a deep breath and said.
"Haaah~ just forget it. Let's go to sleep. If my mom has made up her mind, no one can change it, so just give up on her absurdity, okay? Follow me I'll show you where's my room"
"B-But is it okay? I mean, although we are in a romantic relationship right now, isn't it still... Too fast?"
Jenn asked again, feeling a little strange about this family. A son who was so powerful and a mother who was so carefree with her absurdity.
'Is it okay?' Jenn thought.
"It's okay. You can have the bed, and I'll just sleep on the floor. So, the problem is solved, right?"
Taufik said. He didn't mind at all if he had to sleep on the floor. In the first place, he never fully slept; he still did it out of habit since he was born as a human and growing up as a human.
Hearing that, Jenn took her time before finally answering, although she was still a little taken aback by the change in situation that was a little too fast even for her.
"... If you say so"
After that, Taufik then led her to his bedroom, gave Jenn the bed just like he said, took one pillow, laid out the mat on the floor, and lay down.
Jenn just followed his instructions and then lay down on the bed.
"..."
"..."
After lying down, silence fell in the room, neither of them said anything and just lay there looking at the ceiling.
But not long after that, as if unable to bear the silence that was happening, Jenn then opened her mouth, asking Taufik.
"... Fik, are you sleeping already?"
"No. What?"
"Nothing, I just want to ask you something"
"And what is your question?"
"Do you think our relationship will succeed? I mean, I like Mother... She is very easy to get along with, and also fun to talk to him, and..."
Jenn said, pausing a little, but before Jenn could continue what she wanted to say, she heard a chuckle from Taufik.
"Haha~ You call her Mother already? Isn't that too fast?"
"Yeah~ See? Just like that... She is just that easy to feel comfortable around, It's like we've known each other for a long time"
"Yeah, I know. And...?"
Taufik asked Jenn, wanting to hear the rest of her words that were previously cut off because of him.
"Oh! And... I like y- No, I love you... I'm sure of it, I... I know your mom approves of our relationship, but do you think society will accept it? What if they don't? Will our relationship end?"
"Will you?" Taufik asked shortly.
"... No"
"So do I. It's not their relationship but ours. What if they don't accept it? Who cares? If they don't accept it, they can come to me. I'll cut their soul in half, destroy one half, and return the other half to them so they become idiots. Will they still not accept our relationship? I think not"
Taufik said, It sounded like bragging, but he was telling the truth. With his 'SwordMagic - light form' Technique, he could do that.
"Ahaha~ Like you can do all that... You can't, right?.... Right?"
Jenn asked, thinking what Taufik said was a joke.
"Hehe, who knows?"
Taufik replied with a little giggle, trying to sound a little mysterious.
"... Here we go again. You have to change that side of you, really... At first, it was cool, but if you keep saying it over and over again, you sound like a weirdo, you know?"
Jenn said, frowning while looking at Taufik on the floor.
Hearing that, Taufik couldn't utter a word. Which made the silence fall to that room again.
"..."
"... Fik?"
Jenn called, breaking the silence again.
"What now, honey? Just sleep already~"
Jenn blushed a little when she heard that, and then, with a little hesitation, she said to Taufik.
"... Um~ If you want, you can sleep with me in the bed"
Jenn said, blushing even more.
"Huh? You sure? What if I attack you?"
Taufik asked, a little surprised by Jenn's sudden invitation.
Hearing what Taufik said, Jenn pulled her blanket to cover her face, and then in a voice that sounded like a whisper, Jenn said.
"... After everything you said earlier, if you really want to, then I don't mind"
It was a very small voice, but with the silence of the night and hearing that was many times better than a human's, Taufik could hear what Jenn said as if Jenn was speaking right next to his ear. This made him think.
'...And who was the one asking if it was too fast? You literally skipped the first and middle parts and jumped straight to the last part in one go... But who am I? What can I do? I have no other option, do I?'
There was an awkward atmosphere between the two of them, with Jenn wondering if Taufik could hear what she just said and Taufik trying to interpret the meaning behind Jenn's words, but before the atmosphere could last much longer, Taufik then asked.
"... Women, you're playing with fire here... Are you sure? Although I'm still in high school, I'm not like those protagonists in some rom-com stories who reject offers from women because of some stupid underage reasons, so I'll ask again... Are you sure about this?"
"... If you don't want to, then forget it!"
Jenn said, sounding like she was provoking Taufik.
Jenn was in her mid-30s, but she had never done it with another man before, even though she was beautiful.
Her childhood was full of learning about magic and stuff.
And when she was 25, she realized she had no future as a magician at all.
Because of her disabled core, she couldn't achieve more than the intermediate realm. So, she told her family about her choice to become a teacher in a normal school and a normal environment.
Although many men pursued her after she began her career as a teacher, she never had a relationship like the one she had with Taufik now. So, she, too, was curious about the activities that men and women do together.

Hearing what Jenn just said, Taufik's pride as a man was offended.
"Who said I don't want to? You better prepare yourself!!"
Taufik said, climbing into the bed and then lying down beside her with an awkward posture. (:v)
