{SOME MONTHS LATER}
"Just two more months Cianna. Two more months." She whispered to herself as she caressed her protruding belly. This was her routine now: Eat, sleep, wake up, stare out the window, read a book and maybe a call from Lucille, her best friend who had left to tour the world with her newfound love for a year and could only communicate via Skype and phone calls.
Thinking about Lucille brought a lot of things to mind. She had decided to keep the truth away from her friend and had come up with an excuse on why she didn't go to college. Although she had managed to get Lucile off her back on the matter, there was still that annoying gut feeling that come hell or high water the truth would one day surface. And so she swore that as long as she could, she would keep it hidden. Her thoughts were interrupted by a protest from her tummy. It was during these times that she wished she had accepted the father of her baby's offer for a maid. Then she wouldn't have to stress herself with making of food.
After feeding on whatever her hungry hands could find, she moved to the hall and took a seat on the couch. It was at this point that the reality of the situation hit her her and did it hit her hard. Tears welled up in her eyes and her lips quivered. Soon enough, sniffles turned into sobbing. She curled herself up on the couch and wrapped an arm around her tummy. Her baby gave a kick as if to sympathize with it's mom. This was her now. The once headstrong girl had finally fallen apart. Life had succeeded in breaking her apart.
And so she fell asleep crying and heartbroken, like she had been doing for the past months.
*TIME SKIP*
"The baby's fine and you'll deliver in about a week from now. Keep exercising, eat more fruits and vegetables--"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah i know. You've been saying that for the past nine months and to be honest with you, I'm sick of hearing that. Now pack your bags and get out of my hair", she replied with a teasing smile.
"Just so you know i wouldn't ever live in your hair. I'd die within ten minutes." He replied with a smirk.
Lucianna gasped softly, clutching a fist to her chest.
"Treason! Treason! Guards, come get him!" she shouted in a shrill voice sending both of them into laughter.
"He wants to know how you're doing." He replied in a serious tone. His sentence was enough to tense the atmosphere.
The doctor was like a middleman between her and the baby's father.
When she had been chosen as the surrogate, she made a few conditions on her own. She had refused to meet the sperm donor and also requested that, the baby be taken away immediately after it's birth. Her main reason was to not leave any trace of herself.
"Tell him what you always tell him. Just elaborate a little more this time. Tell him I'll be out of his hair in no time." She replied with a sad smile.
"You've changed a lot, Anna." He replied with a smile.
"I told you to call me Cianna not Anna." She replied with a scowl.
The doctor stood up and packed his equipments neatly into his briefcase. He turned to Lucianna to bade her farewell when a scream of terror flew from her lips causing the doctor to lookup in alarm. He diverted his attention to the girl's gaze and opened his mouth in shock.
"I think my water just broke..." She whispered.
