章節 15: REVELATIONS
Lois's POV
I was so shocked at the revelations I got today. Twas still very hard to believe that my Uncle was still alive and that I have been living with Mafians all along without even having a slightest idea.
But what exactly was going on? This Mafia revelation doesn't answer my questions?
What on earth was going on.
I looked up at Uncle Luca who was still laughing, and that was when I noticed that Mr huge guys, had long gone out of the room.
"Is there a problem Lois?"
He asked, dabbing the tears of his eyes.
"Yes, Uncle. This is all surreal. I'm sure after having a long sleep, I would awake to reality."
He chuckled
"I still don't know where I am, and how come you are here?"
"You are in Rome"
"Sorry? Rome!!? Like Rome?"
"Yes, Like Rome the capital of Italy"
"You mean I have been here for a day or more?. Because it takes approximately 13 hours to get to Rome from Seoul"
"My niece, still as smart as I can recall. Yes, you have actually spent two days here. You've been unconscious for 46 hours"
"Holy balls! How come you are even here?" I scratched my itching brows. Uncle Luca grinned widely
"I am the Don of this Den"
"Shit! You are that crazy Don?" I blurted before I realized what I had said. "Erm... Sorry Uncle" I gave a solemn look.
"Of course I am the crazy Don, princessa" Hmmm I subconsciously grovelled at his rich Italian accent.
"Don is another name for Boss right?"
"Yes it is. I'm am the Don of an Italy Mafia family"
"Like you head a gang here in Italy?"
"yes"
"And those huge guys are..?"
"They are my men. You need to be introduced to them by the way. I will do that after our chit chat"
"Okay. So where is O.. "
"Oliver, your husband" He cut in. I couldn't help but smile cuz of the look he was giving me right now"
"Uncle don't"
"Don't do what?" He smirked. "I see you married Oliver at the end of the day" He slowly grinned at me.
"Come on, I had no choice. It's not like we are in love or anything" I replied in a barely audible voice but was sure he heard me.
"You guys aren't in love yet, but you are definitely on your way there. There's no turning back for you guys" he was already laughing now.
"I see you enjoy being a tease old man"
"Oh, I'm old!? But I'm just 46 That's not so old now, is it?"
"Oh yes it is, for an unmarried bachelor." I quickly fired back.
"How do you know I'm not?"
"Oh please spare me that. Where's the ring on your finger?"
"I see you already took notice of that"
"Seriously uncle, you aren't getting any younger!"
"Haven't found the right woman"
"You know, I'm beginning to think that you are the originator of that phrase, because that's been your defense line since I was six!"
"So you are definitely falling for Oliver"
"Don't change the subject Uncle Luca" I laughed now
"Of course I'm not doing that. We are still talking about romance. That's the subject isn't it"
"I don't believe you" I laughed harder.
Who would believe this funny, wonderful and loving man was a Mafia boss? God! And to think his charms hadn't gotten him a woman all this while. I guess he was the one who pushed them away. I really wanted Uncle Luca to be happy. He deserved to be.
I kept thinking till his voice brought me out of my reverie.
"Oliver is fine. Just had a bullet or two" He shrugged. What the hell!!? Did he just shrug?
"What the hell are you talking about Uncle Luca. Oliver's hurt and you say it so calmly!!? Oh heavens you amaze me. And no one bothered to let me know all this while!!?" I could feel the anger rising within seconds.
"Lois calm down, he would be fine." He quickly stood and walked over to where I was sitting on the bed and pulled me into a hug, and that's when I let it out.
I just let the tears pour out. Things were just starting to seem okay between us. I wasn't ready to lose him yet.
"I just don't want to lose him yet" I cried harder, as I felt his hands pull a strand of hair from my face and put it behind my ear.
"And I thought you said you don't love him" Uncle Luca calmly said to my hearing.
That's what he was thinking about at such a critical moment!!? I quickly looked up at him, and realized that I had just been fooled. He was really battling to hold back his laughter.
"Don't tell me it's what I think it is. UNCLE LUCA!!!"
he just fell on the bed and laughed uncontrollably.
"I see you are so scared." He said, and I was quiet for a while, as I thought of a come back line.
"Of course I am. Oliver has become friend, and has always been family. So it would definitely hurt if I lose him."
"Oh really?" He mocked
"Yes really!! You know what, you are just a hopeless prankster" I said as I cleaned tears off my eyes.
It's so funny, how I have cried since the beginning of today, and Uncle Luca had just been doing the opposite.
"Oliver is fine. He would be arriving here tonight"
I instantly smiled at the good news.
"Excited much ain't you?" He teased
"Oh please. So what happened that night, I was out with Oliver?"
He was quiet for a while, and then a frown marred his face.
"I'm so sorry dear, for the troubles. Marco attacked you guys."
So there's a new Villian to the story huh?
"Who's Marco?"
"Marco runs a Mafia gang in Russia. We used to be partners until, he found out I had something he also wanted. He is too greedy, thats his only problem, and might also be his downfall. So I think coming after you guys was his own way of starting a fight"
"By f-ff-fight you mean? I stammered already scared of what was going to come next.
"There's no way Marco touches my family, and gets away with it. He just asked for war, and war he shall get." He mouth curled into a dangerous smirk. I have never seen that kind of look on his face before. It made me frightened to my bone marrows. I was already getting to see his rugged side.
"Come on Lois, no need to be scared."
"I don't want a war. Let's just forget it all happened. I forgive him"
"It's not just about the forgiveness princess. He's going to come after us for the stuff we are in possession of"
"What stuff?"
"It's a diamond"
"A diamond?" I was already confused as to why they was a war because of a diamond.
"Yes. It's not just any diamond. The worth of that diamond is close to the worth of the most expensive diamond in the world, the Cullinan diamond."
"Oh wow!!" My eyes were now as wide as saucers. I had heard of the Cullinan diamond before. It was a 3106.75 carat diamond! And this one in question was almost worth the same. "How many carat?"
"It's a 2999.61 Carat diamond."
"Wow!!!! I understand why there is a fight now" I nodded my head like a zombie
"Oh you do now?" He grinned and I just nodded stiffly.
"But how come you are in possession of it. How did you get it?"
"Okay. First of all, you know that your grandparents ran the Mafia family alongside Oliver's grandparents right?"
"Yeaaah" I answered, quite unsure of where this was going
"Part of the reasons behind your marriage to Oliver was to strengthen the bond of the Gang. Family is the most important thing to any Mafian"
It was all sinking. I had always wondered how the bond between I and Oliver's family waxed stronger as time went on. I finally understood, that our grandparents had passed down a very huge responsibility on them.
Making Oliver and I get married, practically makes us Family. A Mafia neither leaves nor forsakes Family.......
