Mark grabbed the handle, and he heard it rattle as he tried to open it. It was locked.

Crack!

The lock suddenly cracked under Mark's grip, and he opened the door calmly and entered. Inside the room, there were two people sitting at the table. One of them was the short deputy director of the Superhuman Alliance, George, and the other was an older man whose hair was already graying at the scalp. The both of them had been in the middle of a conversation when Mark walked in, and they both stopped what they had been saying and turned to face Mark.

Mark looked between them both before walking into the room and standing in front of the desk to stare down at the deputy director.

"We need to talk."

Mary came into the room shortly after Mark and started apologizing immediately.

"I'm so sorry, sir, I couldn't stop him from—"

The old man raised his hand with a smile.
