Dust and cries floated in the air. The gymnasium that always seemed so large while running up and down playing basketball, now was small and crowded.
"I think a role call is in order," Mr. McRoy said to Georgia. She coughed and nodded her head.
He walked through the gym talking to the teachers, the teachers started counting heads. Some of the high school classes were present, others, she hoped, took other shelter. She hadn't heard any explosions from the high school side so they were probably safe. It didn't make her feel any better that Brad wasn't anywhere in the gym.
