Unable to use his computer due to a power outage, a skinny and frail-looking young man was sitting in front of it in a dark room. He sighed in frustration, as he hadn't left his room for almost 20 days, and the thought of going outside to inquire about the power cut made him feel uneasy. .
He stood up and leaped onto his bed, staring at the plain white ceiling. A wave of thoughts flooded his mind, and he realized that he had never been this free in a very long time. He was always on his computer or phone, but now with both devices dead, he had nothing to do. He wondered how long the power would be out and began pondering other things as well.
The young man's name was Joesh, a 24-year-old, jobless, shut-in. He graduated from college, but he had only managed to graduate from college by cheating on exams, which was the greatest thing he had accomplished in his life. And after graduation, he tried several jobs but couldn't keep any of them. After a year of trying and failing, he lost motivation to continue his job search and turned to the Internet for income. Although he never earned more than $500 a month, it was enough for him to live without any worries for years.
"Hah…" With a heavy sigh, he reflected on his life, feeling depressed. Although he knew where it had all gone wrong, he felt powerless to change himself. ... With many thoughts in his mind,he attempted to drift off to sleep…
BANG BANG!
"Huh?" Joesh woke up abruptly, startled by the loud sound of his door being shattered into pieces as someone broke into his house.
"W-Who??" Joesh was terrified and shouted, trying to figure out who could have possibly broken into his house?
He saw a tall woman standing at the entrance, dressed in a red top and black pants. He was confused ane couldn't see her face due to her height.
That woman slowly walked into his small one-room apartment, which had a kitchen and bathroom attached. She looked at Josef, who had grabbed a knife and was ready to defend himself.
"Don't worry, I am not here for you," said the woman, and as she moved closer, Joesh could finally see her face. ... she was the most beautiful person he had ever seen in his entire life!
She had captivating blue eyes, striking red hair, and she exuded an otherworldly beauty that would leave those around her spellbound. She moved with a grace that was both ethereal and commanding… Joesh couldn't help but be entranced by her presence.
Joesh stared at her without a blink as she stood before him.
"What's your name?" she asked, unfazed by his intense gaze as she got used to dealing with people like him.
"Joesh," Joesh said without a single hesitation in his voice.
She nodded and looked through the room.
"Hmm, how long has it been since there's been a power cut?" she asked while walking toward his computer
"12 hours," Joesh said, and wondered why such a beautiful woman broke into his house and asking him questions… but he didn't mind that. He felt somewhat happy to see a beautiful woman like her in his small 'bedroom'
She placed her hand on his computer and closed her eyes.
Joesh just stood there, looking at her face. He thought he would never see someone like her again, so he wanted to memorize everything about her forever.
"So it was indeed here," she took a small paper out of her pocket which had some symbols on it.
"What is it?" Joesh asked, wondering what it was.
"This is called Talisman," she placed the paper on the ground and looked at him "Do you believe in ghosts?"
"No… I guess. I've never seen one before"
"Same"
"Huh?" He was a little confused by her response, he thought she would say there was a ghost in his room and she came here to exercise it.
She sighed, troubled to explain things to him.
"You are a normal person, so you don't need to interfere in this, I will do my job and leave," she said making some signs with her hands.
Before Josef could react, the talisman burned, and that woman vanished from there.
"What the…" Joesh left in disbelief at what happened— she vanished? Just like that??
He leaned against the wall, unable to comprehend what had happened in front of him, but all of a sudden, he noticed a light glowing above his computer.
"What is this?" Joesh who was a vigilant person, took a few steps back and refrained from risking anything that was not relevant to him.
Zzzz
A sudden crackling noise of electricity filled the room as a blinding bolt of lightning shot out from the computer and struck Joesh with a jolt of electric current.
Joesh was knocked unconscious and fell to the ground without knowing what had just happened.
********
Joesh opened his eyes and saw a clear blue sky without clouds, as he looked around, he noticed he was still in his room, but his plain white ceiling was gone, and everything was destroyed! He was in the middle of a ruined apartment.
"What in the world is happening here?" He stood up and saw that not only his apartment but the entire neighborhood had been destroyed.
Zzzz
Suddenly Joesh's body trembled because of that sound. He looked at the west as the sound was coming from there, and he saw there was even more destruction there; they all looked like they happened just now.
"Joesh?" That woman who vanished in his room appeared beside him without making a single sound!
Joesh looked at her with a dumbfounded expression, his small brain could not think of solutions to the questions in front of him.
"How did you come here?" she asked him calmly.
"I-I'm not sure," He only remembered her vanishing and that was it; he had no memory of what happened before he opened his eyes here.
That woman placed her hand on Josef's head.
"So that is how it is," she said, opening her eyes.
Josh looked straight into her eyes waiting for her answer.
"Joesh, listen carefully to what I am about to say. There is a monster known as the Lightning Curse that I have been searching for a long time," She spoke slowly to him.
"Okay…"
"And found it in here, but the thing I want was not Lightning Curse, but the thing inside it. the Core of it… now that is inside you"
"Huh?"
"Unfortunately, I need that, so I am afraid... I will have to kill you." She said as her tone turned cold and emotionless.
