章節 99: The Underworld

Enikil's POV

Hating taking Aya to the underworld was a huge understatement. When the portal closed around us both, I held onto her as tightly as I could without hurting her. 

It felt like we had been a cork in a champagne bottle ( Yes, I know about those already ) but instead of flying outward, it was more like the reverse. Like being sucked back in. 

The air cleared and we stood in Anubis's "office." The stone walls offered no comfort to the souls that passed through this room. There was a simple desk, three chairs, and a small scroll shelf off to the right side of the desk, against the wall. All very gloomy. 

The yelling and screaming from down below had been muted quite a bit. Our presence here would not go unnoticed for long.
