Rowan quickly dressed, eager to get to work. His will had turned to steel. It was time to heal Wren permanently. Starting right now.

He shook out his cloak on the off chance that he could actually still wear it after what they'd done on it, wincing at the ruined state of the velvet. He draped it over the chair to wash later, then slipped on Wren's jacket to fend off the cold outside instead.

Wren was currently sprawled across the bed, arms and legs resting wherever they had landed as if they were made of lead. The rosy hue of his cheeks and the soft pout of his lips made him look completely at peace for the first time since Rowan had joined him in the Void.

Now that Wren had finally surrendered to his body's need for rest, he slept so soundly, Rowan didn't think he could wake him even if he tried. He resisted the urge to kiss Wren on the forehead anyway, not willing to take the risk.
